We really need to stop playing Modric out wide. If Sandro and Parker start, then Modric has to take up a central role anyway. Either we play with a midfield diamond or we play one up front.
With Modric wide, we lost the ability to move the ball quickly, when Parker has to join in everything slows down, hangs onto it too long. His build up play is not his strong point and not in anyway a forward thinking CM. Well this starting formation was what everyone wanted, but apart from 20 mins, Chelsea got a grip of it quite easy, how much of that was VdV carrying his injury to HT I don't know.
Thought Benny had a really poor game today, kept giving it away far too easily and poor positioning. Great game for Sandro though, but am I alone in thinking that playing both him and Parker unbalances the team? Nowhere near enough width
Nope. That was my initial problem with playing both of them. We'd be better off giving Parker a rest, moving Modric back into the middle and picking Kranjcar or Pienaar out wide, in my opinion.
We had our **** patch at the start of the season. We've got Wilshere, Sagna and a whole host of players to come back. It's spurs who might find the second half of the season hard to keep up their form.
Very true I thought that was a fantastic run from ramires to create the chance Neither side deserved the win though imo
Sadly I was out all evening so I missed the whole match but looking at the result it seems fair for a London derby. I'm happy that Ade scored and had one cleared off the line. A draw was on the cards anyway as both teams have dropped a bit of form for me. I'm happy that this match is out of the way even though I'm a touch disappointed that we dropped 2 home points. I was thinking that because Wigan drew with Chelsea that we perhaps might beat them but the derby factor weighed a little heavily with me.Oh well,to the next match.
If you look overall at Webb's performance- because he didn't give handball against Cole he put him self in a corner when Benny handled in the area. Another ref might have given both- he gave neither and he's representing england at the Euros!!
Reason to be cheerful: Tottenham are the highest placed London side in the Premier League at Christmas for the first time since 1995 I know its not much but it shows how we have improved.
Get me a quote where I defended that. I class a sore loser as a person who can't take things on the chin when it hasn't gone their way. You think you deserved a win and are clearly upset about it.
