No worries Saintanton; been at home for 3 days with a bad infection so reduced to Internet arguing! Lol

In addition to above: have the FA & Evra limited the argument in appeal to the use of the word only. by saying they do not believe Suarez is a racist;they have removed intent.

LFC can now are argue that they are misusing two parts of a law together incorrectly to dish out a verdict.

Part one: using abusive language. Unless Suarez used something like Bast*rd directly before or after Negrito there's is nothing specifically abusive or insulting about the word unless you believe there is intent behind it: which Evra is on record as stating there is not because he doesn't believe Suarez is a racist. So what exactly about the word did Evra find insulting? Because it mentions his skin colour? But again as stated that's only insulting if there's intent which he doesn't believe.

I have to say when Evra said he didn't believe Suarez was racist I got angry with him. I'd have accepted that he genuinely believed Suarez was being racist so misused a friendly term to abuse him. By stating that he didn't believe he was a racist It lends more weight to the perception that due to an argument where he was unhappy with Suarez in general he has in a fit of temper slung this out to hurt Suarez & then couldn't retract after a media frenzy. By stating he didn't believe Suarez is racist he IMO is admitting that once calm he doesn't believe there was intent. So we're back to a foreign language term that without that misuse by a racist has no racist connotations of its own.

If this is true a temper tantrum may damage the career of a fellow player and hurt a serious campaign by undermining the authority of the governing body trying too hard to be seen doing the right thing.

    Haha
Have you read James Lawton? It's difficult when you have a lot to say to make it concise and digestible as most people these days have got the attention span of a goldfish. He seems to delight in padding his efforts out with pointless metaphors and such as though he's trying to prove a sports journo can be capable of "literature".
    Fails miserably imo.

I'm guessing they have to wait for the appeals process to run its course, just like in a public court. Suarez still has the right to appeal, and potentially escalate his case to CAS, so evidence wise there is no difference between where we are now and where we were in October. Keeping everything confidential seems to be the best way to try and avoid trial by media - yes the media are currently speculating, but that is all they can do without the hard evidence.

    1) The FA have said they will make the evidence public.

    2) The FA are obliged to supply the evidence and written reasonings to Suarez and liverpool by employment law.

    3) Trial by media is exactly what we've had and by which Liverpool are being castigated for not lynching Suarez without any evidence nor reasonings.

Ha ha I'll be kind and say he's "verbose"?

Speculation of Evra going to police is rubbish: last place he wants it is an actual court. I'm assuming the FA investigation required Evra to submit a statement with possible further questioning by the neutral panel & thats it. In court he'd be questioned by Suarez barrister who would do a much much better job than I did of confronting the contradictions in semantics & perception in his public declarationsI've mentioned. A legal dismissal of the accusation would weaken the FA's decision.

Whatever Evras motives or true beliefs on the matter he has got what he wanted through the FA.

Yes, the FA will make the evidence public. After the appeal has been lodged and heard and the FA has given its final verdict. Can you imagine if, for example, the evidence showed that Suarez admitted saying "piss off negrito" or something similar? If you think the talking heads in the media are bad now, imagine how they would feed on something like that, all the way through the appeals process and making it absolutely impossible for the FA to produce any sort of a fair outcome for Suarez. Every tabloid in town would be queuing up to paint him as the next Hitler, even though the FA has stated they don't believe he's a racist.

By not releasing the evidence until the appeals process is done with, the FA can credibly ignore anything said in the media, as it has no basis. I suggest that Liverpool fans do the same <ok>

That's the point though Swarbs; nothing exists in a vacuum. The longer the evidence is withheld the more bitterness is being produced by people "taking sides" the original issue may eventually be resolved but the repercussions of what is happening in the mean time will be long lasting and I would even argue damaging the serious campaign which is at the heart of this I.e racism is beginning to take a back seat here which is terrible

Then why the fock are they defying standard employment law by making Suarez and Liverpool wait until January till they have the evidence? Surely if this is the case, Liverpool should ask for an eight week perod, not two, until they lodge their appeal. After all, it's not the fault of Suarez nor Liverpool that the panel (independent my arze!) seems to have been using Stevie Wonder to take the notes and transcribe them.

By the way, on the subject of isms, there's a whignefest that no woman has been nominated for Sports Personality. Why is there no left-handed people? And being a quarter Chinese myself, I'm offended that there's no Orientals in the running. Maybe Alan Hansen should be put in the dock of public opinion with Suarez and Liverpool for not meaning me when referring to 'coloured' people.

    Or maybe not...

Indeed. I don't think I'm at the stage where I think anything has been fabricated but I do believe after both the accuser & the adjudicating body both giving a declaration that they don't believe Suarez is a racist that it is even more imperative to see exactly what justifies the punishment handed out. because without it, the media (not because they believe it but because the scum know it sells) and large parts of society are adopting the "he's a racist "stance.

Even I might have defaulted to the he's been found guilty so he must be if it wasn't for the very public and unequivocal stance the club is taking.

Removing Kenny & his old fashioned loyalty as the gaffer. I just can't see business men taking the risk of tarnishing their moral image particularly as the new markets are in to put it crudely non white countries & with the ownership being from a country with the sensitivities resulting in a very dark past on the issue. It would be economic suicide.

    So they must either:

    A) truly believe Suarez is innocent & not just on his or Kenny's word either: no business person makes millions betting on another's word.

    Or

    B) they believe that despite his guilt the case is SO weak they can challenge & get away with it with their reputation intact.

The police wont go anywhere near the suarez case, even if they did, the (normally inept) CPS would tell them the case is not worth a carrot.
