My neighbour works for quite big company and he is part of a team with black people. He gets called thick white by them and he doesn't really care. But just think of the outrage if he called them thick blacks. Double standards in this country. Don't get me wrong I don't care but it annoys me when mountains are made out of mole hills.

It is about singling out minorities. whether you like it or not, black people in this country are a minority. You cannot, for whatever reasons offend the minority. I was saying exactly the same last night. It's how you act towards other races and not what you say unless said with intent. What Hanson said is not even close to racist.

Well it is to the Irish but it's used in everyday talk.Not a lot of people know that as I sure Hanson didn't know 'coloured' could be construed as racist.

 

I think he does, but being from his genearation accidentally said it. As he was not using a typically racist word as such he shouldnt have any problems, however he will get told never to use it on tv ever again as SOME find it very offensive
