L£st£r are only supposesed to have £10 million to spend in the January window anyway. (If) they approach us for any players, Mr Allam will stick price tags on our players heads so inflated that will it scare them off sooner or later. They need to get their January deals agreed fast - as the clock is ticking for them - and I honestly feel they will be wasting their limited time with Hull City/Assem Allam. 'Barking up the wrong tree' comes to mind. There are other clubs who are short of cash and will buckle. We aren't looking to sell and we aren't short of cash. The people running our club are simply not fools. Moreover they are not in it for a quick buck/profit or are they short of a buck or two temselves. If anyone is prised away from us it will be for very very stupid money, and it wil be in the summer at the earliest I beleive. What the board will want to do is see where this current crop get us by the end of the season and then take things from there without undermining it by selling 1 o 2 of our best players in January - when we are in with a shout of automatic promotion to the PL and all it's riches. The one thing they have stressed in particular since Nigel '***got Face' Pearson walked out is that they want continuity/consistencey at the club. If they can play their part by telling any clubs (in particular L£st£r) to f-off in January, they most certainly will do. In the meantime, expect spam gallore from our friends in L£sta, claiming bids are in for Chester/Hobbs/Fryatt/Stewart/Rosenior/Koren/McShane/Kilbane etc
Indeed. Thats my take as well on the meeting NB has with tha Allams friday 23rd along with Adam. With Adam P. also i suggest backing Nick then it should all add up to a very happy new year for the Tiger Nation. imo.
Good point, Postie - the Nick Barmby move to management (hopefully!) should be smooth and non-traumatic; so the idea of breaking up the team we have at present, would be completely against the grain.
Unless this came from Messrs. Allam, Adam P. or Nick himself i would say its total bollox. 7million for Chester & Stewart ? Un-beleavable. 7million as against 80million. NP will be left with egg on his flat top IF there is any truth which i doubt very much. It would be a worry though if Mr Duffman was still in charge.
