When i was a small, supple six-year-old boy my dad said to me: "Son, if you're going to be a man you've GOT to like football. Now, i don't care who you support as long as it's not Man Utd, but men like football and so should you."

Probably the best moment me and my dad shared.

He supports Leeds, and i have to admire that he didn't force me to support them, he gave me a choice.

I can remember very clearly the moment i decided on who to support. We were on the news after thumping Ipswich, Cole scored a plethora, including an interesting penalty which the further in time it happened, the more i think i made it up.

It was like the Pires / Henry thing, but it went right. Cole, to Fox, Fox, to Cole, goal! Or maybe we'd just knackered out their defence and they were just watching us play around them. Who knows.

Ever since then i've been a Newcastle supporter. Bullied by my friends and peers for supporting a club that noone else did, i came out of it with my head held high and my spirit in tact ever since we beat the scum 5-0 on October 20th 1996.

I believe that because i support Newcastle i'm better for it. I've not had success every season, i've had to suffer and laugh and cry at our efforts, which makes it even more pleasurable when we do win. Surely a Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool fan can't appreciate at the same level the highs of a 0-2 win away at Birmingham.

I thank every dot of DNA i chose Newcastle.

And now about me. I have a hilarious website, i write plays, i work for the government and i miss uni and drugs.

The next time the toon play in the North West, i'd love to meet up with fellow Newcastle fans. I've only ever met one in my entire life (nearly a quarter of a century) so i'd even take a cheeky WKD with Tash, if you're listening Tash. Tash? TASH? TASH!?

22 Year Old born and raised in Rural Northumberland. Moved around it a bit, but settled in Raul Moat country for a good while now.
Raised as a Man U fan, but converted once i had a mind of my own and never looked back. Only really been into football big time for the last 6/7 years, and so haven't been to many games. Still try to go to as many as funding allows.
Working in IT (since the Army ****ed up my education) but looking for an out... Going to do a collage course for something i might actually enjoy!
Football is second only to my love for music, metal head, but i do actually appreciate most music, as long as it takes talent (read, not dance/most 'pop').
Oh, and in 2 years time i WILL have a ST, that's my goal.

I hope when you mean dance being talentless you're just referring to the commercial tripe that's out there.
If not me & you need words and you need a musical education <cheers>!

I am indeed. Lesser known stuff is alright (as i said in another post, i am fond of good dubstep and a bit D'n'B), but the commercial stuff is just a repetitive beat with a simple melody and some talentless bitch who cant get a record deal whining over the top. Utter tripe!

Oh yeah sorry I forgot! I was going to say that's how I advanced into Electronic music through Metal.
It was Krash actually, they used to play Slam all the time back in the day which got me into Pendulum, spiralled into Justice & from there evolved!

I'm 19, live in Portsmouth, born in Portsmouth. However all of my family are from Leicester, so it was obvious that I was always going to support Newcastle...

See i like electro! Have you heard Nu-goth stuff, like CombiChrist? Really dark, strange dance, but it's good stuff. Pendulum are good also, but i much prefer early Prodigy and Hadouken! (Hadouken! are a favourite of mine!).

I see we've got quite a few fans with a bit of mackem in them. I was told as a kid if ever I found a good mackem I had to shoot him before he had the chance to turn bad.

I'm 22, and should, for all intensive purposes be from Northern Ireland...Only issue was my Mam n Dad married in the 70s, he is an English Protestant called William, she is a Catholic Irish woman called Colette, so instead, they settled in Newcastle...After a cheeky stay in North West Africa, my Dad got a job in Bishop Auckland and then I was born! I study English at Queen's University Belfast and spend the majority of my days playing FIFA and struggling through hangovers. Student life is immense!

    I don't have a girlfriend as 1) I'm a commitmentphobe and 2) I am currently on a winning streak at STI roulette!

I played footy for uni as a Tiote-esque defensive midfielder, my finest game to date was in the All Ireland final, we were eventually beaten by UCD (Dublin), I got man of the match but it was all in vain....Since then I've torn cartilage in both my knees (on 2 separate occasions) and can't even hobble round a 5 a-side pitch in fear of aggravating the injury!
