I accept everyones opinions. Doesnt mean I agree with them. Some of them are madness.

He has done it season in, season out...in different countries. Also, can you inform me of these chances he has 'wasted'?

Clear cut chances any great player would put away with relative ease: Away at Wolves in the perfect position in the box, put it wide, criminal. Away at Man Citeh very similar position, hit at straight at Hart, criminal. Through on goal at Citeh, Gosling spared his blushes by following in. Even last night, when Vuckic cracked the bar and post his follow up was shoddy to say the least. Just imagine Shearer following up on that. You'd expect a goal.

Just an observation. Now Shearer was a great striker. Ba isn't. But he is very good.

Really? I was under the same opinion before I'd seen him in a black and white shirt, but I've gotta say he has got everything, he's the full package of what you'd want in a striker, he's better than great.

Name these great players, and how far behind Ba in the scoring charts?

    What? Really? Ok then.

Rooney. Van Persie. Aguero looks an unreal prospect. Torres has lost it but he was a great striker. As was Drogba up until this season.

If Demba Ba plays like he is for the rest of the season and then has the same season again next year, then you can start to call him great.

All I see is a good player in form.

Ba has an average of just over a goal a game with 87 goals in 163 appearances. That's pretty great if you ask me.

Edited the correct appearances and goals, **** you Wikipedia!

You could pick out wasted opportunities by any striker doesn't mean they aren't great players. Demba Ba is unreal and probably the second best striker in the PL behind RVP.

Fair enough. I just think if you put down every attribute you'd want in a striker ie Pace, Power, Finish, Hold up play, Heading and skill then Ba ticks every box and is up with there with the best of them in every single category

Yes but we are clear cut that a great player would mop up with a shiny spoon.

Talk to me in a year or two's time to whether Ba is a great player.

Believe it or not, but even the best strikers miss chances.

    Aguero - 13 goals, 53 shots, 24.5% conv rate, 86.9 mins/goal
    Dzeko - 10 goals, 33 shots, 30.3% conv rate, 68.1 mins/goal
    Rooney - 13 goals, 57 shots, 22.8% conv rate, 104.6 mins/goal
    Van Persie - 16 goals, 51 shots, 26.2% conv rate, 90.3 mins/goal
    Ba - 13 goals, 42 shots, 31% conv rate, 91 mins/goal

Are you for real? So you manage to pick up on three poor shots, two of which he still managed to work the goalkeeper and the other one was a very difficult opportunity due to being off balance.

He has the same amount of goals as Rooney and Aguero and has a better shot conversion percentage than both of them. I can't see how you can actually criticize Ba in the slightest.

The qualities are their, no question. But is he a Didier Drogba yet? Not yet.

Just to give a slight different look on it: 10 years ago Emile Heskey has pace, power, finish (just about), hold up play, heading and a bit of skill.............know what I mean?

Yes I know, but if Roon, RVP, Aguero had the clear cut chance im talking about...the net would have rippled.

What is this. Its just an observation. My god. Will you lot be as defensive when he signs for somebody else? ;D

No, nobody knows what you mean. We are saying he is one of the best in the league at scoring goals, which he is. And you are comparing him to one of the best strikers in the world when he was at his best? On top of that Heskey had the potential, but Ba has fulfilled his potential, he has done it in France, Germany and England now...what more do you want for christ sake?

Who criticising? What is this seriously? Its an observation.

Throwing stats at me and the fact he has 13 goals is not new information I hadnt realised. Jesus Christ.

Dimi Berbatov had about 20 goals this time last year.......think about that.

    :D

Yeah, playing for Man Utd who create chance after chance every single game. We haven't created half the chances this season than they did last season, so the fact he has 13 goals already is spectacular!
