Anyone else now hear those bursting bubbles over at the Ashley sports direct arena?

2 points from 18 now. 2 from Norwich (a), Swansea (h) and WBA (h) actually. Lol

With the winter sales upon us, is it any wonder that no mags have visited us tonight?

10 points the gap now. Lol:cool:

Getting closer to reality Cest. Not a burst bubble yet but getting much, much closer to reality. Seems a lot of faith has been lost in Pardew, for all his good work, some of his tactics in recent games have been baffling. I won't worry about Sunderland until they're within 2 games of us though

It's amazing to see how seasons can turn on their heads so quickly and after the start you had, to no win in 7 and 2 points from 18, its a testing time for sure. I saw it from January onwards this year and it cost Bruce his job in the end.

I'm not saying we've cracked it just yet, or that you have blown it completely but the fortunes of both clubs has certainly turned 180 degrees in the last 4 weeks.

We're coming to get ya? Better start thinking about that quote of mine you seem to have prematurely used to beat me with kidda. I may just get to use it myself this season after all. Lol

I'm looking forward to having a period after Xmas where we dont go on a 14 game losing streak like we have the last couple of years. All the good work before christmas gets shat on by Bruce's inability to get sober after a big chrissy, and for 14 game we slide back down the ladder.

  6. We've hit a bad period where we just can't defend, but I don't think it's panic time at all yet mate.

We could all see a mile off that the first set of **** results and people would be claiming that our luck had run out and we're in trouble of going into free fall.

I have faith that once we get a new center back in, that we'll get back to our winning ways. We've still been playing good football at times, and scoring the goals, but our injuries have destroyed our defence.

Well, as proved by Bruce this year, these mini slumps can quickly turn into major ones and far from defence being the only problem, who will score the goals when Ba goes? Who will yet get in defence? Who will Ashley sell?

Another defeat and like it or not, this will become a major slump mate and it will start to effect fans, players and manager. You start and wonder where the next win and performance will come from. Goals dry up and silly goals are conceded.

I've seen it this year for myself.

  8. Agreed. But all I can do is remain optimistic and turn up for matches, which is what I will continue to do mate. As I've already said on another thread, we got results like these quite often last season whilst in a much weaker position, but we still finished alright, and we were seconds away from a top 8 finish.

I'm not saying that it means anything really, but we have the stock of points and a good squad to help recover.

Ba has helped us a lot, but he couldn't have done so well without our other players. All our wide players and Cabaye have all supplied him with fantastic service.

Shola and Best aren't amazing, but our back up strikers have all proven they can score goals in this league. Not many, but they can do enough.

And we still have the Jan transfer window to bring players in. All we need is a striker and a center back.

It's a bit of a worry mate, but I'm not panicking at all yet. <ok>

we've seen it in the last 2 years where we have been doing ok then the slump happened. Wouldn't it be just awful if the mags slump turned out to be like that....Just awful.

  11. Awful, yes. But there's still a long way to go.

Our bad run could turn into a good run with a win vs Bolton, and a draw vs an misfiring Liverpool possibly without Suarez.
