Gotta look at Wilsons motivation at the end of the season. He probably wanted to get going before the world cup + impress some potential bidders.

I'd like to think we could attract a more rounded striker to compete with Brobbey.
Yeah, could definitely be a bit of that.

Players are human and it was natural for Isidor to feel a bit pushed aside by Brobbey's emergence. Plus he became a dad with all the energy that takes. Isidor wears his heart on his sleeve so it was obvious he didn't feel great in mid-season. Testament to how high the character of our group is that Isidor wasn't disruptive or went to the media to voice unhappiness / kind of thing.

It had everything to do with fitness mate. All Southampton had was a medical, we had all his data from when he arrived.
He was offered a deal that he was happy with but we wanted a clause in to do with match fitness.
It was best for both parties he left, and what followed proved that and we all benefited other than Southampton
NO in demand player with a decent agent would sign a contract you describe! Data tells you nowt about future injuries mate ,fitness yes but injuries no!Unless you tell me you have first hand knowledge i think your a hindsight biased individual in this case. It worked out well for us so we should move on but I dont agree we should imbue our medical/fitness team with some sort of prophetic powers. It was all about his value curve and his wage demands nowt more!

aye this, I think we need someone on par or maybe even an upgrade on brobbey to compete. I love Brobbey so no slight on him. i just think we need two good strikers that fit our style of play. Latest reports in the echo were suggesting Brobbey caused a style shift which now leaves Isidor and Mayenda as two strikers that now don't fit our style.

Mayenda definitely a loan. We will regret selling now cos he will treble value at some stage.

We need a ruthless finisher.

I’d argue we do in Isidor, whenever he’s through one on one it’s rare he misses. It’s clear that brobbey is the main man and for the team he’s the best fit, but Wilson is undoubtedly the better finisher between the two for me

Wouldn’t call him ruthless, best we have for sure.

He finishes well sometimes but instinct one touch/head dies fail him.

I love the lad though so hope he remains.

There appears to be quite some changes afoot inside SAFC and I don't believe it's just admin, new appointments, etc.

I'd have expected a post-season message, from KLD, after what has been a momentous season.

What we've seen is more along to do with improvements to the financial situation, training facilities, SOL infrastructure, etc.

I'm sensing a distancing by the owner which is making my wonder about the future.

I'd be surprised if he'd wanted 'outside investment' or a shared ownership, he's too independent ...

... I keep getting the feeling he's done what he set out to do and the club will be taken over.

That would leave him and Sartori having made a substantial, and deserved, profit.

Sunderland's ownership group have released a statement saying they are fully committed to the club after claims that they are actively considering a sale.

Footbiz reported on Friday that potential investors had been made aware of Sunderland's availability, and that US investment bank Moelis had been retained by the club. Moelis have previously been involved in the sale of Chelsea FC.

Sunderland's owners did not directly deny those claims, but said they were 'entirely committed' and that the club was 'aggressively' planning for next season having secured Premier League safety.

A statement, initially released to the i Paper, said: "Sunderland AFC’s ownership group remains entirely committed to the Club, excited by a season of immense progress and the scale of the opportunities ahead, the Club is aggressively planning for its second campaign in the Premier League.”

Im sure last season KLDs end of season message came a few weeks later,

hes been busy with some other work, and read that hes doing something in america for the WC. ( investment possibly)

And I think he post something, and outline the plan for next season. as I think he will want to go all out.

but I do get where you are coming from, He had a 5 year plan and we have done it in 4 years.

I hope not. I hope KLD is here for a few more years to come

Yeah, I must admit I’d thought there would have been some communication from him re the end of season/European qualification.

I’ve chosen to convince myself that it’s just as Xhaka mentioned after the Chelsea game, that this is just the start and the club (and therefore KLD) want more and KLD is enjoying a break before next season.

I fully realise I might be kidding myself and it’s as you describe but I’m sticking to my guns for now and hoping that KLD is looking forward to it as much as we all are.

To be fair that’s about as vague as you can be.

The claims were that investors were alerted to the availability; those claims weren't denied. The article headline only mentioned a sale because a company retained by us (moelis) had been involved in the sale of Chelsea. So I think it's a case of clickbait involving potential investment rather than a sale.

Hope so marra

I don’t think for a second they selling right now.

He’s 2-3 years away from maxing profit. He probably banks £3-400m now if we sustain this progress he could close to double that, simply as we a PL club.

I personally think he’s on the hook, and the fact Sartori still here means he’s been on that hook a while.

I think 2-3 years at least.

And I disagree, just my opinion …

… I’m not interested in changing people’s minds or asking them to agree with me.

My opinion isn’t based on this ‘clickbait’ or any other.

On the other hand we could spend a lot, have a poor PL season and fail to reach the knockout stages of Europe …

… which would make a sale now look like a clever move.

For every Brighton and Brentford there’s a Wolves and West Ham.

Oh aye I can certainly see both sides of the picture.

Just personally don’t think it will be just yet.

If we could mix the together we'd have some striker, BB's hold up play with Isidors finishing.
