It turned out they didn't overturn the ban, he just got a diplomatic passport, but it didn't work and the US denied him entry.

The tournament can't start soon enough, it's nothing but negative stories coming out of the US at the moment.

Doubt the **** show will stop then, probably even ramp up. Will Iran even be allowed in to play their matches, for instance?

Fifa have been just as bad mind you. Could easily have moved certain teams' matches away from the US well in advance. Like the ICC with India and Pakistan.

Sadly it really isn't that simple is it? World Cup hosts are decided years and years in advance, nations could cause all sorts of havoc between being chosen and the actual event. Other nations couldn't handle having the World Cup dropped on them with say a couple of years to go...

Your right. Takes years of planning.....Only country who dipped out after been awarded the WC is, I believe, Columbia. Mexico took their place in 1986...I can't think of another case.
