This seemingly fresh, ambitious approach is not going to make any difference unfortunately, because the targets simply don't want to come to Newcastle.

While Newcastle try to punch above their weight, other clubs hoover up the players Newcastle probably could get, and in the end Newcastle land the players neither the big clubs wanted, or the clubs like Brighton wanted either.

Well....a clown has just broken into a girl's house, sliced her eye out, cut her forehead open with a pair of scissors, ripped the top of her head off, broken her arms, chopped her legs apart, repeatedly stabbed her with a scapel, then poured bleach and salt all over her...and the girls mother has just come into the room to see what's going on, and said clown is proudly showing off his work to her.

We aren’t getting anywhere near Stankovic. We’re either going to know the signings and be deeply underwhelmed - Delap, for example - or not have really heard of them at all.

Think the idea we’ve got a chance of getting the likes of Nusa, Munoz and Stankovic are as fanciful this year as the likes of Huijsen, Pedro and Mbuemo were last year.

We shall see, it’s early days but we’ve seen this before. Managed to sell Gordon quickly but don’t appear to have any plan for his replacement.

Then again I suspect this will be the case as it looks almost certain pope will start in goal. ****ing baffling.
