Went to see a nutritionist last week hoping to get some help with my CVS(cyclical vomiting syndrome) as it just getting worse and more severe when Im having an episode recently and the medication I’m on from the dr just ain’t doing enough to stop it

She just got back to me with some useful information and things to try and avoid foodwise

But she suggested I make a drink before I eat consisting of some sugar and fresh lemon and ginger, summin to do with a lack of acid in my stomach or whatever and that helping prepare my insides to take food properly so I’ve been doing that every time before I eat since and it seems to be working as I’m not waking up with food still sitting on my chest (what it feels like most days)

I’ve been pissing brown water out of my arse all week too , yesterday I pebble dashed the toilet like 8 times in two hours lol

I’ve still had the bouts of nausea but it’s been less than usual and I’m feeling lighter and more energetic this last week so that lil bit of advice seems to be working with helping me digest my food more easily

I have a follow up zoom call booked with her this Thursday for further advice and I’m much more optimistic about her advice than I was when I met her in person

When we met She advised I stop smoking cannabis and I told her that’s never gonna happen and she’s instead of insisting I do she offered alternative advice in regards to body clock and nutrition (I hardly sleep in the main, l maybe 3 or 4 and never more than 5 hours a night and I’ve been like that since childhood) but since taking her advice about what times I eat and that I’ve been sleeping much better and longer than usual.

So i just thought I’d share that with you guise

Sounds rough mate

Take her advice though

Also have you looked into Kombucha and probiotic food and drink ?

Amazing for gut health, produces good gut bacteria that helps your immune system apparently

Which is located in the gut, allegedly.

The sugar, lemon and ginger helps in several ways, the sugar is to help your glucose, the alternative would be having to put you on IV, probably because you are dehydrated due to cycle - ginger and lemon as you have stated is to help break that cycle.

Years ago I had a similar cycle but mine was due to a certain medication I was on, rather than the problem it was supposed to help with, but expect that remedy is good in any similar situation, so good to know. <ok>

You can get those little probiotic yoghurts pretty easy

But basically any fermented food, so miso, kimichi, some soya stuff. Kefir milk, Sauerkraut

Pretty easy to add some to your diet.

I love Miso, easy to make a broth and chuck in some noodles and chicken.

Sauerkraut is also easy, just use it as a side dressing. I have it with loads of stuff.

I always have ajar of kimchi so that’s good

Cut down on oily foods and lean meats that are high in protein (white parts of chicken, steak, lamb, some mince etc.).

Switch to low fat fish like tuna and halibut for strong alternative source of protein.

See if that helps.

Start fasting

Do 30 days in a row

No eating/drinking between sunrise and sunset

might help
Honestly bro I couldn’t fast if I tried, I get the munchies too bad and ain’t got the will power to not snack lol
I dunno how you guise do it tbh

Munchies are coz of the weed init...I would easily be half a stone lighter if I didn't enjoy a spliff

Vicious cycle

Other than that

It's mind over matter

But yeh your stomach would benefit from fasting

Maybe try intermittent fasting

Where you only have a 4/6 hour window for consumption other than water which you can have as much as you want

Tube strikes again because they’ve put custard creams rather than digestives in the staff room or have said people can’t have a week off when their goldfish dies
