Not sure how to write this, had a try at about four AM [ yesterday] But never quite got my head around it, but here goes. Racism, what exactly does it mean? if you are a Makem if you are a geordie if you are blaclk if you are white if you are from mars what exactly does it mean? do the scots [jocks] do the irish [paddies] do the welsh [not going to write sheep shaggers] have problems with this? Do I give a **** if Im called a white bastard,,,,,,,,,,,,no do I care about being called a MAKEM bastard,,,,,,,,no If I dont like someone, It wont be skin colour, Its because personally. I dont like him period. I have a problem with this issue, where are the guidelines about what is correct or not correct. Example,,,,,,,,,,,, German calls me an English whatever, is he guilty of racism? for centurys the English, Scottish, Irish and Welsh have had issues with one another, so how can that be determined as racism, TV adverts in Scotland taking the piss out of the English, are they now tabboo, I hope not as they are good fun, all too soon we wont be able to talk to one another, even email, or be part of a football forum, in case we upset someone. put guidelines in place, and then we can make our own way in life. By the way, after spending the last forty years travelling the world, having lived in different cultures, I have learned a lot, but not any answers. ANYBODY GOT THE ANSWER?
The French are not a race... they're a nation. Like the British. So hate way MR it doesn't make you a racist im my book . I actually have found I like/dislike the French about the same ratio as I like most people... apart from Israelis where those I can stand drops to single digit percentages.

I was honestly appalled... words fail me at the stupidity that this message gives to racists and victims of racists. I totally lost respect for the manager and every player who pulled those T-Shirts on.

Lived and worked for many years in Orly and Toulouse, found the real French people very warm and friendly towards us Brits, hated them before, because I was expected to. But my oppiinion has changed, go live amongst them, I suspect your oppinion will change too. But no one has answered the question,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, WHAT CONSTITUTES RACISM?
Too big a question for nearly 2 in the morning mate - but here's my opinion. Racism is where you believe that a person is inherently inferior because of the race they belong to and the races are broadly catagorised as White, Black, Asian and White-Hispanic. Once you drill down to a finer sub catagory you're really talking about different tribes (like gallic, celtic and germanic for example). Racist insults and abuse is making their race part of the insult. e.g. "You're a black **** " instead of "You're a ****" Racial discrimination is allowing your predjudices (and everyone has some) to influence how you treat people - especial if you're in a position of power (e.g. if you're hiring folks) Dislike of a nation is more properly classed a xenophobia - a dislike of foreigners but it's still not right to discriminate agains people because of that... although I think the racial abuse thing doesn't apply. But I'm far from being an expert on the subject.
Yeah, who the **** knows? Aparantly it's all in the way it's said. You can say ****ing black **** with a smile on your face and it's seen as a joke.... Say it with a smirk and it' s ****ing racism... What a load of ****ing ****......I repeat.......A load of ****ing ****e....
I'll add....I have 3 french at work and they are sound as a pound...why do you hate them? and you not allowed to go back more than 65 years in history for your reason ( my question.....my rules)
I'll also add. I have worked with quite a few Germans,indians, poles and Geordies. They also are pretty decent people. OK the Geordies are a queer race but you can't win them all...
I have read that back and it's not the way it was meant to be... What I think I mean was that you can say something to a different race and "they" interprate it as racisim. When some words are said in jest. (am I digging a hole)? "CONTEXT" is the word I'm looking for..
Only after oppinions, hate is something I dont do, dislike yes, and all the people I dislike are from Hull. Both of them. But the other three hundred thousand no probs, lovely folks.
