Really poor punditry all round IMO Minto with his media following head on saying we were fortunate to be in Premier league (do some research you ****wit) Matterface hoping to talk about anything else and the Mag loving Alex Crook (bearing in mind talk sport have a dedicated Newcastle chat show) whose bias screams through his comments have managed to produce a cringeworthy section of their show.
Minto is as probably the best and most level headed there, but I spotted that as well. It's another case of someone not doing research and just parroting the accepted line. Very poor.

Don't get that "lucky to go up line". We were never that under threat by either team. If VAR wasn't there then maybe Sheff Utd beat us but it was and it was the correct result. Other than that they scrabble around looking for reason why we were lucky. None of it was true at the time and none of it is now!

Only thing they might use is we were in poor form going in but despite my worries at the time that was all part of RLB master plan! Rest the lads ready for the play offs! No coincidence we scored late to win both!

Man, I miss that!

Either waiting for them coming, ( we got both delivered when I was a young lad) or later on a Saturday night with a pint before we went on for bigger things, or even later just with a pint and then back home!

Just the world changing, but they are a miss. I think the Football Echo was one of the last to go actually.
I pushed the bairn in her pram one Sunday morning to the paper shop to get the footy echo, started reading it, got back home and realised I had left the pram outside the papershop :emoticon-0111-blush

Been there mate,
Left our lad in his buggy in the town centre car park, got home ( nine miles away ) and our lass says where’s Ric,
Flew back again, still sat there in his buggy next to the car where I was parked.
Funnily enough I never took our lad to the town again.

Totally agree. Watching the play off final back, Sheffield United came out fast and caught us cold, great save by Patterson, but their "dominance" was due to us being a man down with O'Nien injured and Neil in dropping back to cover until we could get Mepham on. After that it was more equal. They scored from a breakaway from our corner but after the disallowed goal we were in top. We were on top most of the second half and well on top after we equalised. I said to a bloke next to me at the time that if we equalised we'd go on to win it, because you could see we were on top. It's just lazy journalism and following a narrative that lets them come out with it.

Very weird watching Hume’s goal as I thought the shot went just wide of the near post but the ball was in the back of the net. Maybe it hitting the camera and coming to rest at a seemingly illogical place affected my brain!

I sit in the west stand level with the edge of the D and I thought he had an open goal!
When I saw the replay on the big screen, it was F me!

Thats actually a better finish than what he's been given credit for. Them 3 half steps he takes, allowing himself into position to volley, never taking his eyes off the ball. Technically excellent. Our 200K right back <laugh>

Totally agree. In my humble opinion Var should only be used when the Ref asks for it......"I'm not sure if he moved his hand to the ball....I'm not sure if he tripped him just outside the area or inside ......can you help me make the correct decision."?
At the refs request and each captain 2 requests each.
Otherwise no var intervention.

Remember the "Lucky Man City play off" Now that was luck, the penalty that never was "Whitley,s handball" I'm glad they won because I can't stand Tony Pulis

Watching that again (first time since watching it from the Fulwell End on Sunday), I didn't realise what a top class 'assist' that was from Onions . . . . it was absolutely brilliant/exquisite from Mr. Sunderland :emoticon-0111-blush
