Keep ****ing positive, boo boys **** off - WBA game review

  1. Lets not ****ing panic for ****s sake! We're still in a really strong position. The only thing I hate about 51,000+ crowds is those few hundred boo boys come back. As far as I'm concerned, they're glory hunters who should **** off and don't deserve to be in the crowd. But I'm happy to see that 95% of the crowd was still with the lads and clapped them off at the end.

Just ignore the mackems. They've had to wait many months to start ****ing over a period of time where we did **** and they did well.

I know we lack a big player at the back to defend against set plays, but Pardew can't seem to grasp the fact that we're ****ed from set plays, simple as. What we need to do is go and score as many goals as possible. Playing 2 target men and hoofing the ball up the pitch will get is no where. HBA was class when he came on apart from that stupid death turn he did in front of our back line. WBA struggled to deal with him at times, and he should have started.

We got our tactics totally wrong tonight. Target men, hoofball and a high line? Why the **** was our back four positioned on the half way line when they have two very quick strikers?

I don't want to criticize Perch because he was good today. But the fact that he couldn't win a header vs Shane Long, who's like 4ft 6, is ridiculous. We need a dominant presence at the back.

    Ratings -

Krul - 6 - Don't recall him making a save, and he shouldn't have come off his line to get that ball. However, we rarely won a header in the box all night, and that's what ****ed us over from that set play.

Simpson - 6 - Did his best to aid our attack.

Colo - 7 - Good performance but just not able to defend in the air

Perch - 7 - Can't complain, a lot of good challenges, decent all round play, but he's quite obviously going to get raped in the air.

Santon - 7 - Why did he go off? He was good in the first half.

Raylor - 4 - Got caught out so many times it's scary.

Jonas - 5.5 - Not a great game. Some decent runs but overall, very un-impressive

Tiote - 3 - He was a ****ing liability. His worst game in a Newcastle strip.

Vuckic - 8 - Great game, and so unlucky not to score. He's got a fantastic shot on him and I can see why we kept him and tried to improve him.

Ober - 5 - Some decent defensive play, and some decent runs in the center, but overall, average.

Best - 4 - Apart from a few decent bits of play, he did **** all but get called offside.

Ba - 8 - Two fantastic goals. Lets just hope he doesn't get frustrated by the fact that he's scoring and we're not getting points.

HBA - 7.5 - Should have started. Some fantastic skills and runs, and a good assist for Ba.

Shola - 5 - Couldn't do much to help us.

Overall - Disappointed, but I'm not going to panic. We must remain optimistic. It's very clear that we lack a strong CB. We need one, and we can't ****ing go bargain hunting again. If we need to spend some cash to get him, just ****ing pay it fat boy!!

We can't afford to barter with clubs over a new CB, we just need to get a good one in, and pay the cash.

MOTM - Going to have to give it to Ba to save it from being a 3-0 embarrassment. Vuckic was class for his first start.

I'm not at panic stations just yet, but we have Liverpool & Manchester United coming up after Bolton so we need to get something from that.

I would give Perch and Colo a 5/6. Neither were great positionally and both got pulled out of position far too easily. Pardew's high line didn't help their cause though. Also you have been harsh on Best and Tiote, yes they were poor by normal standards (especially Tiote) but they are ridiculous ratings TBH.

Colo - 7 - Good performance but just not able to defend in the air - What? He was at fault for 2 goals I think.

Only Santon should have over a 5 for the defence today, appalling.

rest I would agree with, maybe Ober at a 4.

  6. Tiote gifted them possession so many times through stray passes and he lacked his energy on the ball. Best did **** all really mate. Got caught offside way too often. I don't mind it if he makes or creates a goal in the same game, but he really didn't help us today.

He is clearly not match fit and I would debate playing him vs Bolton TBH, he looked knacked by half time. But you have gave Raylor a 4 so I would say Tiote at least deserves that.

No one deserves over a 7 for that crock of ****. Also, Colo - 7? Really? We were watching two different games there mate, he was one of the worst on the pitch.

Ever since the Stoke game our team looks fatigued, slow in our build up play, not closing down as quickly and not being first to every ball. Our team looks bereft of any ideas - just hoofing the ball up to Ba and see what he can do is the only option atm

    Some more accurate ratings...

Krul 6 - Played okay, commanded his area well and couldn't do anything about the goals really.
Simpson 6 - Not a bad performance, attacked well and defended better than I have ever seen him defend.
Perch 5 - Good from open play again with some good tackles, but he was **** at set pieces...just not good enough!
Coloccini 4 - Absolutely awful in the air and on the ground today, guilty of two many long balls.
Santon 6 - Defended brilliantly and got forward well...surely must have picked up a knock.
Obertan 6 - Tracked back well and looked dangerous at times, poor final ball let him down.
Tiote 4 - Worst performance I have ever seen from him, the only way you can describe it is - Untiotelike
Vuckic 7 - Was a passenger at times but then popped up in spaces and put in a couple of cracking efforts, he also played some nice passes at time and made some good runs.
Jonas 6 - Same as Obertan really.
Best 5 - Poor at times, but he was feeding off scraps. His first touch was poor today and he seemed off his game.
Ba 8 - Probably his worst performance since ramadan in general play. His touch was poor and he looked off the pace, and then bang...two goals out of nothing. That is what quality strikers do and although they were offside he also finished two other ones nicely. Strange how he played so well last week but couldn't score and then play not so good this week and score two!

Raylor 5 - Barely noticed him, did nothing wrong, but also did nothing right.
HBA 7 - Looks a class act every time I see him play, he MUST start against Bolton!
Shameobi 4 - Did he actually come on? Did **** all!

just came back from the game ****ing raging at certain players performances out there here are my ratings

krul- 5- he was shocking distribution awful didnt get near any of the goals
simpson- 6 nothing spectacular but solid enough, sloppy in possession
colo- 5 another awful game for a player who has had an excellent season, got murdered by shane long and odemwingie
perch- 7 our best defender surprisingly thought he was good with his tackling and marking
santon -6 nothing of notice dont know why he came off
obertan- 3 terrible, all this faith by pardew and lets his manager down with yet another woeful performance
tiote- 3 ****ing awful, head looked like it was someone where else, passing appalling
vuckic- 8 great performance worked hard and commited and a cannon left foot on another day he could of bagged himself 2 wonder goals
jonas 5- it was a typical jonas performance huffed and puffed but ineffective
best- 4 did not win anything in the air, first touch of a rapist
ba 9- was playing them on his own, he has our club in his backpack at the moment, carrying us at the moment

raylor- 5 terrible passing and the 3rd goal he was missing
ben arfa- 8 came on only newcastle player who could find space and take someone on was a fresh of breath air, why the hell did he not start, assist for 2nd goal
shola- 6 tried but not good enough

very very frustrating however credit to shane long he was superb really wish he was alongside ba now

Best is terrible for being caught offside, to me it's lack of concentration, he must know himself how bad he is and he should be working on it. Tiote did give the ball away too often, he knew he was doing it and it seemed to add to his frustration.

For once Tash, I agree with you! Although Colo deserves a 4 at most.

I'd agree with all that except for your comment on Best. That is his usual game. I don't know why people seem to rate him or think he's a useful player for the team, because he's not. In most games he does absolutely nothing.

He hasn't scored a goal since September, for ****s sake. That's not good enough.

I agree with this except knock two off Krul. He was at fault for the second and, from where I was, it looked as if he could have done better for the third. Also his distribution was terrible
