Well the bloke stood with his phone at the training ground is pretty irrefutable evidence I'd say.

We've definitely done it. It just doesn't for a second mean we'll be booted out of the play offs.
Is it though? That could have been anyone. You know for certain the guy in the photo worked for Saints?

My point is that Boro are leaking every bit of evidence to the press to crank up the pressure.on the EF to get themselves reinstated. They are deliberately looking to get Saints hung in the court of public opinion.

It isn't a batch of evidence, it's a trickle. Evidence should be questioned.

A guy in a photo isn't as slam dunk evidence.

Every piece of evidence needs to be challenged and at the moment it isn't.

He's in a picture with Tonda when Tonda won manager of the month. So yeah I know for certain he works for Saints.

Let's not go down that route. Yes, we're clearly guilty here. Alfie House has said we're not disputing the charges. We just want a proportionate punishment at this stage.
Why not? What is wrong with questioning the evidence Boro are trickling out to the press, especially as Boro are demanding Saints get kicked out and themselves reinstated? That's opportunism.

I agree. Question the evidence. One thing the club said in their statement that sticks with me is context. The picture tells a story and the evidence they are trickling out, but what about the context.

I don't think it will be transaction records but releasing an image of what's essentially a customer to the press seems pretty dodgy itself.
Yeah I mean I'm no expert by any means but there is definitely grounds for Saints to point to how Boro have handled this in the manner of screaming toddler.

But I'm sure I have read the golf club have confirmed it was Will Salt as they checked the records on the payment software and he used his own card. If true, sharing that information to another business/ leaking to the press for a non legal matter is 100% a data breach.

So much of the oneboro forum is them taking random postings on twitter as absolute gospel.

We've apparently spied on anywhere between 4-8 clubs.

We're going to get sued by Wrexham, Millwall, Norwich and Ipswich

Those same clubs are also going to sue the EFL

We're going to be expelled from the play offs

We're going to be expelled from the league

Saint Gibson of Middlesbrough is going to sue absolutely everyone in Southampton

This is the worst sporting scandal of all time.

All of this in their heads is absolute fact.

I wanted to get promotion at the start of the season, purely because I want my team to be in the top league and because I was seriously worried about the clubs finances if we stayed down. Now I'm desperate, absolutely desperate, to go up purely to spite Middlesbrough. I've never encountered such a "holier than though" fanbase. Apparently they've never ever ever done anything remotely moody, and they are absolute stalwart in their beliefs that football should be totally equitable. I look forward to watching them next season never dive or commit a tactical foul

Someone on here said yesterday that the business wouldn't get the name from a card transaction like that. Which seems right really.

I'd still rather not go up but am much more comfortable with the idea now knowing how much they're going to cry over it.

Win win situation now really.

Having read that oneboro forum in its entirety, you can easily tell the 'ITK' poster is just an avid twitter/ reddit/ forum reader and making (ill)educated guesses.

I'm also fairly certain that the golf club can get in a lot of trouble here, I used to be the data controller for my last work and GDPR breaches are no joke. If it is as it seems, and the golf course has confirmed the identity via transaction records to support a vigilante investigation for a non legal matter and leaked through Gibson to the press. They could in theory be hit with a fine bigger than we are...
Ooh I like that! I think Gibson has acted like a spoilt little brat. Although shoe on the other foot I’d probably be ok with us doing similar. Said the other day tho, if I’d heard all this about another club I’d just shrug my shoulders & say we all do it don’t we? Just don’t get ****ing caught - knobs. Definitely getting exhausting & taking the gloss off of a magnificent run & performances. Wish it would just be over (with a reasonable & proportionate penalty).

In fairness.. it’s now at a point where because Hull won their semi final game, Boro haven’t got a chance in hell of claiming “they should’ve gone up” once the final is played (which it will be). So regardless of who wins the final, Boro can just suck up their salty tears cause once that game is played there’s no way they can be claiming they should’ve gone up, because if we win then Hull have more of a shout to get the bye to the Prem than Boro! It’s all too complicated time wise now… it’ll be a huge slap on the wrists (massive fine / in house firing of staff / 2 point deduction in Prem & maybe even a larger suspended points deduction for if we return to EFL to make it show like they won’t tolerated this). Between Tom & DTLW think has been covered from my view too, but thought I’d just agree and echo my views align completely. Think EFL will make more set in stone stronger sanctions now. 3rd club who gets caught won’t be so lucky imo
