I just explained the whole scenario to my 10 year old boy and his answer was nice and simple - "They all sound like a bunch of pillocks" Probably the best summary Ive heard to be honest

http://m.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/dec/21/uruguay-luis-suarez-racism?cat=football&type=article Are we falling into the same arrogant trap as always in this country (UK)? Generalizations have been thrown around on here about the terms used & what levels of insult fictional black people would feel if it was said to them. The same liberal ideals that have outlawed racism, sexism, sectarianism (quite rightly) in our society also has as a fundamental concept that we are a global community, one species. And yet some are dismissing other cultures views on these issues saying tough, not like that here. Take the article above: an ex Uruguayan player who is black says Evra is wrong to be insulted & that we can not translate on a literal sense. Are we saying that the views of a black person in this country are more important than those in another? And if so is that based purely on the fact they come from another country? I feel paradoxes starting to form here. Are we saying that the western black view of the world is the only correct black view & that all other dark skinned people should change their views & culture to yet again conform to a western idea? A few weeks ago I posted that all these words should be outlawed including the use within the victim community so there are no grey areas for a racist to hide in but now I wonder if that idea is based on an arrogance that our interpretation is colored by specific historical bias that other multicultural societies simply don't share. Who us right?
1) Its the Christmas holidays 2) I go college, not school 3) That scenario is realistically possible - People from other countries have different understanding on every subject, we cannot judge at this point in time.
Ironic that there's so much personal abuse on a thread discussing the condemnation of someone for personal abuse.
nice I tend to find this very interesting It is a very good point, and to add to the mix, where is tollerance? Suarez was not charged on what he said and meant Luis Suarez was charged on the nearest english translation and meaning of that closest english translation.
All the fun with all this truth and consequence. An eye for an eye And a truth for a truth And anyway I told the truth And I'm not afraid to die. Bored with it all now, looking forward to the game. The first person to tell me who sang the above lyrics wins an ipad. Christmas post may delay delivery.
Evidence?? Did you not hear that Suarez admitted that he used the word lol Get over it, the cheating scumbag has had karma "bite" him on the arse
