Because there is just so much noise and if it was absolutely not even a possibility then the EFL should have said so. Either this morning or even before the first match. That’s the concern. That they haven’t taken it off the table

And the media is whipping it up because it’s a great story and will be an even bigger one if it happens (and then even bigger still if a reinstated Boro get to the Prem)
But the punishment isn't their call so why would they do that?

Tbf we don't know that, but i'd side on it still being fairly unlikely.

Still guarded about it though.

I'd say it's more than fairly unlikely. Simply never going to happen.

As said before apart from anything else there isn't enough time to go through the entire process.

Exactly. Which is why that option is off the table for me. And Hull will now be preparing to face us. It would completely make a mockery of the play offs if they changed the results.

The other option is just to kick us out without changing results, and then get Boro to play Millwall in a one off game to see who faces Hull. If that is in the table Millwall will need to know now as otherwise their players will have ****ed off thinking their season is over

It's not going to happen. Stop panicking over some crying from some rabid northern monkeys and their pet journos.

They already will have ****ed off.

Christ some of you lot are as bad as the Boro loons.

I didn’t know that part. But I’m also not convinced they have zero say on the options.

Imagine if there are options on the table that would truly cause the EFL an absolute nightmare / bring the game into disrepute. Say something truly mad like banning us from the EFL outright. The legal storm would be more smoke than they want

But that at least least suggests us getting thrown out is at least an option no matter how likely

But clearly I don’t understand the process

It's an INDEPENDENT commission that decides. The EFL presents their case, we present ours, then the commission makes the decision.

“Pet journos” currently seems to describe nearly every major journalist. Not just the northern ones

It started with them though.

National media jumping on a localised story which is generating outrage. Well I never.

A 100% Independent commission with absolutely zero guidelines or zero input on potential punishment options? So they could rule we have to play in all blue Pompey colours next year? I’m being deliberately silly but there will be some structures and guidelines

Again, Millwall and Middlesborough aren't going to be rewarded just because of some alleged cheating. It would make a mockery of the playoff systems, and would lead to months of legal action.
