That is a bit crap. Can't see the transfer windows being changed drastically enough to make up for it either. Sigh...
Welcome D , another reason for us to breakaway from Fifa perhaps! a bit extreme ,but what are we prepared to pay to have blatter and cronies having no say over our football !
What players have we brought in over the last six years which would be classified as emergency loans?
I wasnt thinking of us ! NNW I was thinking of clubs in L1 and 2 with very small squads that we have lent people too , like Rene to Yeovil!
Welcome D. This is rubbish. It will damage everyone!! The players who would be loaned will be forced to sit out doing nothing, and the clubs who would receive the player would have to suffer. What if you were a team who only had an 16 man squad and then two players collide in training. Are you supposed to field a weakened team??
This sucks...but..they don't say we can't loan, they just say we can't loan outside of the transfer window. If they relax the transfer window rules, surely that means that we can still loan, within the transfer guidelines?
Frankly I have no sympathy at all. The clubs that will be hit hardest by this will be the very same clubs that swung the EPPP vote because they have no interest in youth development on any scale. And those clubs deserve every bit of pain that comes out of this.
Don't get me wrong, not being able to bring in a goalkeeper will hurt all clubs, and the FA may well defy FIFA to allow this. But that's all emergency loans should ever have been for in the first place.
We have had the subs cut from 7 to 5 , now a threatned reduction in loans , so how are young players meant to get some game time , improve themselves at a faster rate to have a shot at getting into the parent clubs squad! Furthermore why should Fifa tell us what we can and cant do in our leagues! Until we stop hamstringing ourselves and allow FIFA to harm us further ,the England team will always struggle on a world stage ,perhaps thats blatters plan ,cunning!
The only thing we need to do is find a way to stop the massive clubs hoarding as many teenagers as they do at the moment. If that were to happen, the problem of getting youngsters football would stop pretty much overnight, as lads capable of playing to a good professional standard would leave Champions League clubs quicker.
The players will go to where they can get the money, Unless you take down the EPL and the new academy rules they will still go there money talks , if you stop loans then the kids are wasted ! Its chicken and eggs mate ! Unfortunately when the prem was formed the genie got out the bottle ,and cant get the bugger back in! So how do we make the best of a bad job , How do quality kids develop and how else do smaller clubs see them if we get rid of loans?
Do agree with you on the big clubs hoarding the talent ! Maybe there should be a limit to numbers of players in a club ? I dont see how you stop it!
I'd have a hard limit of five 18-19 year olds, 19-20 year olds and 20-21 year olds at any particular club (age ranges are based on school year groups).
But then you havent got enough for a team in an u18 league say! , or what if they were no goalies in a certain age range ! , Sorry mate dont think that would work!
the only way to give kids in regional clubs a go would be to have personnel could only move in the close season and could only play for a club within a certain distance of where they were born! , but these days that would be illegal on so many fronts!
Under 18s are scholars, and I wouldn't have any limit on the number of scholars. The vast majority of scholars (and a majority of them even at clubs like Watford) don't turn pro, and this limit would only kick in on the hoarding of professionals. I think it's a good thing that lads get top-class training at the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal. The problem is that would-be Football League players stay there too long, and often end up worse off financially and football-wise than they would have if they had dropped down at 18.
Okay so then to counter that you have better educate the boys and more importantly there parents ,agents ,guardians! Not to take the quick buck ! That aint easy!
