I have no evidence to back this up.

But it feels like Gelhardt has had his best games one of Beloumi and Miller haven't played.

It feels they just get in each other's way.

All of his best games have come on the right. I know he’s got a couple of goals and assists when he’s been central but I can’t remember him having a properly good game when playing there.

They do have too much power but surely it isn't that unreasonable to have a football match at 8pm between two sides in the same league. Society should be able to work around that and make it work I would think.
Well you would hope so but it obviously can't. Football kick off times are pretty crap for most travelling supporters. What's wrong with playing both semi final matches over the weekend and the return fixtures midweek

We let them have the ball on purpose so we can break on them I suppose. That puts a lot of pressure on our defending while giving us sporadic chances without periods of pressure. That's why we need to be clinical with that game plan as we don't get the ball in their box as much.

Towards the end it felt like they got more chances. I don't know if that was only because we opened up more or if there was also an element of tiredness. They got in our area a few times but we didn't make many errors and normally cleared our lines well.

Joseph got a little more time. Miller wasn't so on it but I'm not sure how many minutes Yu has in him and Koumas has been variable for us. Joseph definitely has the energy for more minutes.

Our last 2 play off first legs against Derby and Watford left the aforementioned teams with too much to do. We go to Millwall with all to play for. A bit like the Norwich match. We need to get over the line again. I can see it happening.

The more pressing question is do we bring in Ajayi to deal with it for the away leg because we can't have them bringing it down comfortably in our half every time they hoof it long. But then the problem is if he ****s it up with his passing again. And this has been the conundrum with our centre back options all season; all of them have major flaws and you just have to pick which ones you're happier to accept on any given day.
Because he’s been so inconsistent and at times awful.

in defence of Gelhardt.....has anyone had a consistent run of good games in the 10 spot this year? with our style favouring more direct football rather than a 10;/linking the play I reckon it's a tough place to stand out in. Let's not forget he won the pen last weekend and was it him that was fouled for the free kick we scored from?

Crooks looks pretty good whenever he plays there.

We can go putting 'he's ok when he's on it' on the pitch Monday. Whatever was said before Norwich needs saying again, because Norwich were miles better then Millwall. 'go hard or go home'.

I think the difference is that Crooks is a really good all rounder and plays more like an 8, so he covers more ground and is more effective all over the pitch.
Gelhardt is much more of an out and out striker, so struggles when asked to drop deeper and defend or disrupt opposition midfield. The 10 in our system needs to be able to help out the two midfielders more or they just get bypassed with quick passing moves too easily and we don’t win any second ball.

Is there a reason why plod don't send away fans down Anlaby road to and from the stadium?
Me neither. Be easier to do that if they put them in Upper West at the South End, but then I suppose some go the other way to the coach park.

And anyway that would be less likely to avoid flashpoints so wouldn’t guarantee big numbers at the next game to boost the individual and organisational budgets!

Millwall were scrapping top of Chants Ave so more than the train lot to deal with. Looks like a lot of there old school lot turned up for this one. In hindsight if getting a train sorted at short notice wasn't possible the kick off really should of being moved to at least 7.45 so Millwall fans could of at least being held in for 15 minutes to let the majority of Hull fans get clear of the ground.

This has been one of our biggest weaknesses, we haven't found the best 10 partnership with McBurnie and he always looks isolated, the focus on the Giles/McBurnie partnership highlights this.
