So we would've made it by one point if we hadn't dropped points at home to Bristol City and Ipswich. We can speculate that the cup interfered with the league but I wouldn't change how things went personally. We were within ten minutes of a cup final and overall I think that the cup run boosted precious confidence.
And if all is well and we get to Wembley in the play off final, I am sure the experience of playing there in the cup so recently will be very valuable.

The draw with Bristol City was a missed opportunity but I don't feel the same about the Ipswich game which just felt like a fair result.

Or drawing with Charlton, or the first 15 games where we were ****.

Don’t attribute where we finished with dropping points in the crazy run we’ve had in the last 5 weeks or so, where we’ve looked knackered. Was completely down to not picking up a couple more wins in the first third of the season. If we had though then maybe Still would still be in charge and we just kept being average and finished mid table/he was sacked a month later than he was and we finished 8th or something

Strange one these play offs. A lot of people would have us as favourites given our form, and yet we haven’t beaten any of the other teams in it this season.

They all scare me, to be honest.

None of them are the sort of team we do well against.

Neither Hull or Millwall scare me playing them at Wembley. Boro will be tough but not scared of them. Respect all the teams yes, but we shouldn't be scared of them.
Thought Boro looked very good at Ipswich and looked good today from me half watching it. Only drew though

This will now be the players longest break between games since the international break in March. We have played 2 games a week, every week since the 2-1 win against Arsenal on 4/4/26. We also won our next 6 games after the international break.
The players now have the rest of the bank holiday of to spend much earnt time with their families, before getting back to work on Tuesday. We will have a fully refreshed Downes back for the play offs and hopefully Stephen’s and Matsuki.
Don’t know about injuries etc for Boro but if Hackney is back he wouldn’t have played for 8 weeks. Also think fellow CM Alan Browne came off with a knock at half time today.
