Lot of similarities between the Irish and the Argies. Both got their arses handed to them by the Brits. Neither population can run a country successfully. Both have had female leaders. Argentina produces corned beef. Ireland produces tatties. Both go into corned beef hash. 'Taigs' sounds a bit like 'dagoes' **** the Argies. And the Irish.
The locals complained The brass told the troops to stop They started calling them Stilbys Still Bennys
On a serious note the Argentines have absolutely no chance and Brazil would never get involved, they might condemn it but i bet they wouldn't wanna upset one of the worlds major countries by involving themselves in a war over some small islands. The rest of the countries are a joke, after we eliminated their air force (which believe it or not Britain is still a very powerful air force) they would stand no chance and be bombed into submission, just like the libyans. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No._1435_Flight_RAF
The Swiss - yeah in the middle ages they would have fought loads of guerilla wars against their bigger neighbours Faroes - bunch of Vikings the lot of 'em. Virtually invented hit and run warfare. Lapland - The Laps are descended from Finno-Ugric tribesmen who have fought skirmishing wars for thousands of years across the russian taiga. So yeah pretty much everybody has fought guerilla wars. Guerilla is Spanish for little war btw - first used in the Peninsula War to describe the Spanish forces tactics against the Napoleonic French Army.
France has never given up its claim for the Channel Islands. They can **** off though ... we are British. Queen Liz still has Duke of Normandy as one of her official titles ... she is actually our Duke and not our Queen. So she could arguably still claim Normandy if she wanted to be petty about it. Although I think the UK has officially relinquished any claims?
The UN recognise Britain as having the only legitimate claim to the Islands. Argies can go **** themselves.
Don't think so. Refers to fighting lots of small hit and run battles rather than the large massed battles that were the norm for the period.
