I know what you mean. If we lose tonight we're basically locked into 5th place so could rest players at the weekend as well. Give the likes of Scienza a 10 day break before the first leg of the semi.
I could easily see Boro losing to Wrexham. That isn't to say that I'm convinced it will happen, but I think there's a big enough chance of it happening to mean taking the Preston game seriously regardless of what happens tonight. Yeah we can rotate a bit - as we have in all games recently - but not to any extreme length.
I can see a very open game tonight so have stuck a fiver on over 5 goals, over 9 corners and over 4 cards at 28/1. You can blame me when it turns into a 0-0 borefest.
Could go one of two ways imo. Either we burst out of the blocks still buzzing from nearly beating City, and absolutely demolish them. Or both sides are a bit nervous and leggy, resulting in a lacklustre draw.

I seen enough of Tonda to know that he will be going all out to win tonight and not keep anything in reserve in case we don't make it.
True, would be a nerve wracking final game keeping an eye on Millwall and Ipswich games
I think the "are we / are we not" on the last day adds to the spice of it all. Much rather the last game of the season had reasons to win it all over the fixture list than they all be dead games.
Just can't get excited for tonight. Even with a win I think we'll be just short. A draw tonight and rest most of the first teamers for the weekend be ok in my book
I don't see us resting loads on Saturday regardless what happens tonight. We'll still want to finish at least 4th.

Tonda normally rotates the front 6 due to them being the primary pressers. It rarely ends up with a reduction in quality. I expect the same this evening ... around 60 mins for the starters and then being replaced with the bench.
I could see Larin, Matsuki, Edozie, Charles all starting tonight. Bragg maybe too as he was replaced by Charles on Saturday while Jander played the full 90 (with Downes unavailable). Back 4 will revert to Manning, THB, Stephens and Bree assuming Jack is fit. If not, Wood will start again.

Exactly. 5th place gets a lunchtime KO for home game too which isn't ideal.
Also a team finishing lower than 4th hasn't won the play offs since 2019, and I think only a couple have even won their semi final in that time.
But none of them in fairness had Tonda as manager
