Remember Chris Foy sent off 2 Chelsea at QPR, so he's not their 'favourite either' It seems he is just serially incompetent, as he was as poor in that game as ours. Now Howard Webb, who IS the ref, ......................................... just hope he's fair to us on Thursday
Cheers PS A lot of people seem to think in what I see as an 'old-fashioned' way, that if a right winger is out you need a right winger to replace him. That's simply not, necessarily, the case. It depends on what options you have, as to who is the best replacement.
Webb whether he likes it or not has a homer tag, so lets hope! Having admitted his mistake against us in the infamous 3-5 game, it must always be in the back of his mind when reffing us since, to make sure he's sure. He doesn't like drawing criticism from SAF, which is understandable, but AVB?, the scrawny little Portuguese doesn't really hold the same fear.
I have a sneaky feeling Bale will be fit, despite Redknapp claiming him to be "very doubtful". So many managers do this in a way to unsettle the opposition when the team is announced. Though, as I said previously, IF Bale is indeed out, it's an ideal time for Townsend to really show what he's about. Danny Rose shone on his debut (and f*ck me do we know it! ) and Townsend has all the attributes to become a very good winger in my opinion, the "unknown" element about him for Chelsea could play a key part. I doubt Ivanovic/ Bosingwa would have studied anything (or very little) on him and therefore could surprise them with his pace and skill. He's a confident guy who likes taking players on, give him the chance I say if our Welsh wizard has to watch from the stands.
From the OS: Harry Redknapp has a number of injury concerns ahead of the big one against Chelsea on Thursday night. Aaron Lennon is out with the hamstring injury he picked up against Sunderland on Sunday and Harry described Gareth Bale as ‘very doubtful’ with his ankle sprain. Jermain Defoe and Ledley King are also doubts and the manager reported that Emmanuel Adebayor didn’t train on Wednesday with a foot injury, although he was more confident of the striker making it against the Blues. Good news sees Younes Kaboul available again after a one-match suspension. “Gareth’s struggling at the moment,” reported Harry on Wednesday. “He hasn’t been able to train. He’s very doubtful. “It normally takes six or seven days for Ledley’s knee to go down, so we’ll have to wait and see how it is today and tomorrow. He’ll be 50-50 at best I would imagine. “Jermain, again, has a bit of a hamstring. He thinks he’s got a chance, but the physio isn’t keen on him taking a chance. “Ade’s got a foot problem, we’ll see how he is. He can’t train today, but we’re hopeful. He doesn’t miss too many games. “Azza’s got a hamstring injury, but he shouldn’t be too long. It’s only a minor tear. He could be fit in a couple of weeks." ----------------------------- Ade has a problem too... Hmmmm!
lord!!! thats all we need every thing that makes chelsea **** their pants is a doubt...just what we need at such a pivotal part in our season.....the time when we can put a marker and a gap between ourselves and the rest below 3rd....but naaaaaaay....we are all missing in action apparently in that case expect ADE,Bale and co to be fit and raraing to go tomorw...and that will knock 20 percent of the wind out of chelsea's sails...and they wont know what hit em COYS!!!
Don't care if you win or lose. Just give John Terry hell Having said that some of your lot are probably in support of the racist POS
