Given our poor GD I have zero confidence of us going into the Norwich game with only a 3 point gap between us and Derby and Wrexham.

Someone mentioned that we seem to have a history of losing games at the end of the season and it occurred to me that nearly every notable season I can remember our form tends to falls off a cliff.

Long before our late season plummet to L1 in 2020 and Rosenior's team's drop-off, weren't even our glorious promotion seasons in the naughties characterised by us taking our foot off the gas? We allowed Donny to pull away in L2 when we should really have won the title and then, the following season when completing back-to-back promotions, I seem to remember us losing the last 3 games. Even in 2008 we passed up the (admittedly slim) chance of going up automatically on the last day by losing at Ipswich. It's not just me is it?
We should have won both of those Titles that both Doncaster and Luton won .
We should also have won the title the last time we went into the Prem.
The COVID title is the only one we finished strongly enough to win the title and that was with the crowd locked out .

Sold out away end too.

Sod’s Law has really tee’d this one up beautifully for typical city to volley into their own net. Nearly all of the trademark signs of a spectacular city collapse are present. Just missing the featured match on the sky sports main feed.

Think that game was actually around new year. They still seemed buried at the time. We played them away near the end of the season and drew 1-1 I think. Hernandez missed a sitter late on. They still looked relegated even by then. Then their big run to safety started after that. That's how I remember it anyway.
It was jelavic
Elmo shoulda shot but squared it and it bobbled a bit I think

Yeah you’re right, 0-0 away in March when Leicester were dead and buried bottom. We needed something like 2 wins out of 10 to all but secure survival. We then went on to lose 6 of our last 8, whilst Leicester won 7 and drew 1, in turn relegating us.

I remember a game vs Leicester being a real turning point for both clubs fortunes that season, I thought it was a bit later on.

Maybe the fact that we’re all expecting the inevitable is a good thing. It usually happens when at least half of us are expecting an easy win.
