    I like that one of the team's drivers has to be Indian. Though that does give whichever team gets Chandhok a massive advantage...
    I do however like the idea - the IPL model has been proven to give great entertainment. Reckon this might take off, I would keep an eye on the TV rights.

    HRT have for me got something of Minardi about them these days. Though not quite the same degree of sympathy, beating Virgin two years in a row despite their troubles re: testing deserves some applause I feel.

    Hope that whatever their plan is it goes well. And if we can see all the teams on the same level come 2013, well, bonus <diva>

    But yeah, I reckon they just read the rumors from yesterday and ran with it.

    Edit: Apparently it was announced on air, by a very well respected journalist on the radio station who have seemingly removed it from their twitter. Very confused.

    Ferrari will launch their new car on the 3rd Feb. Confirmed by Montezemolo.

    It's rumoured to be called the F2012 or F12.

    Well, of course HRT's objective is not to win but to survive as a competitor. This is their first means of to generating cash to maintain some hope of eventual improvement but they have to be realistic within their budget; and at least they still anticipate being on the grid for the immediate future. Also, it is just remotely possible that the big regulation changes to come may help rather than hinder their survival if they are planning for that already - which of course, might impinge upon their 2012 campaign.

    As far as my understanding goes, the 107% qualifying rule still stands, and will remain in place after the big regulation changes to come. Of course, 10 seconds off the pace would put them out of business in any season, but I'm sure they'll not be that slow this season. I hope they can consolidate their funding and eventually make some headway.

    It would be great to see then improve, in 2010 they were a laughing stock, but hey.. they moving up very slowly but surely.
