The pope did apologise for the child abuse that happened, he did it when he came to England, I was in the same cathedral listening to him. I don't know what more people want from him, it's not happening any more. Pretty much every large organisation in that period had problems with child abuse, people just focus on the catholics because they're an easy target. And who can blame him for wanting to cover it up, something that was rife in most places anyway could have completely destroyed the church's integrity. Yes, it was wrong in hindsight, but have a go at all the other places that unfortunately ****ed children and covered it up.
