Hi NZ - just been reading the tour itinery for a Scottish singer called Emily Smith - she'll be in Christchurch on 4/3/12. Dont know what sort of music you're into, but she's well worth going to see - easy on the ears and easy on the eyes too:)

So thats the room cleared, now just to hover and dust. its been a dull and boring day. Lets hope tomorrow is better, but with no training i doubt it. I think i will have to find some space somewhere in the house to go through some stuff.

Morning all - Damp but mild start to the day...

On the subject of racist comments and what footballers say or are supposed to have said - I caught some football from Spain or somewhere on Sky the other night when I was in the pub and not really paying it much attention, but what I suddenly noticed that some of the players were talking to each other but had their hands covering their mouths so that you could not see their lips. I wonder if we will start to see this over here?

I see ex Liverpool legends have been dragged out to make the usual comments "We need to kick racism out, it has no place in football....then wait for the gap and then the BUT.....he is a nice bloke, he is mixed race, it's a cultural thing, some of his best friends are black......yes, all the usual justifications because it's their team. For me he is a diving cheat and 8 weeks is not enough... On the same subject, King Kenny is quickly becoming as obnoxious as Ol' Red Nose...

....and isn't he looking old - he's starting to look like the original Taggart's grandfather.

BB - I was thinking the same thing, although I did not make the Taggart connection. I was thinking a demonic cross between Mr Potato Head and Gizmo from Gremlins...this could be the start of a fun Xmas thread!

just trolling other forums and found this interesting nugget about the Barnet situation

My inlaws house backs onto Underhill and Father in Law a Barnet supporter he paints a very different picture of the situation…

Underhill was purchased from the council for £10k about 10 years ago a ridiculously low figure for a bit of Green Belt land, this has been investigated several times by auditors and the police. Despite purchasing the ground Tony Kleanthous made it quite clear that Barnet needed a new ground as this was insufficient, despite all this 'we need to move' talk he also purchased the nearby Cricket Club and houses to 'expand Underhill'. The feeling amongst residents is that as soon as Barnet find their new ground the site will be sold off as a brownfield site and open to housing development (anyone want to guess Mr Kleanthous other business interests?!) which they believe was the goal from the get go, and that questionable actions went on at council level, which have never been proven.

Interestingly there is also clause in the purchase contract for Underhill that the council will receive 60% profit from sale of the ground if Barnet moved out of the area of their own accord, however if it could be proven that the Council forced the football club out then all the money would end up in the Barnet FC holding company anyone want to guess the timeline on the clause or the owner of the holding company?!

Just to muddy the waters a little more Kleanthous purchased a 44 acre ’training ground’ in Harrow and proposed to build a state of the art training centre and a stadium for the local non league club there which has been approved and is being funded by several grants from the local council and the FA and a chunk from Barnet FC… which seems like a very nice thing to do for the local non league club doesn’t it?!

I am with you on both of those Norway - I am longing for the court case and seeing him getting banged up in The Scrubs. Why is it that football managers are allowed to wait so long to go in front of the courts?

    Morning all

Very grey and wet down here on the shortest day. Just occurred to me, I don't know why, that 'shorten' is an anagram of 'hornets'. I sometimes think I have fr too much time on my hands...
