I'm a big fan of Brawn and Schumacher, but Mercedes don't deserve them. It looks like Mercedes have built another dog of a car and Schumi ruled himself out the title a couple of weeks ago. While they can both remain optimistic, I don't think they will be challenging for race wins this season.

    Brawn says:
"We are well aware of the pace of our current car, the distance to the current front runners and the reasons for this, which include the compromises brought about by our cooling issues. Our intention was always to launch the car in a fairly basic specification to allow more time to focus on the upgrade package. This inevitably means that we look further off the pace than people might expect. Knowing all of the facts, I am comfortable with our current position and the developments that we have to come.”

He can't be serious blaming cooling issues for poor pace! The distance to the front runners looks to be significant given that Rosberg's qualifying simulation was 1:23.1 while Massa's 1.22.6 wasn't qualifying pace.

They will take a big step forward, but so will the other teams, and the guys at Ferrari and Red Bull have better designers with more resources. At the moment, all the teams have a "fairly basic specification".

    Mercedes are screwed.

As things stand, there aren't many options open to them, but Ferrari shouldn't have any problems welcoming both Brawn and Schumacher back into the team. If Massa continues to get beaten, Schumacher could be a brilliant replacement.

Schumi will retire if this is accurate. I wish the season would start sooner so we can see what the real deal is with where teams are.

Rosberg deserves a good car. Hes a bit like Heidfeld really, very good but never had the car and can beat even the toughest of opponents

Long Term Process: Meaning: A process or schedule of events stretched over a long period of time.

The team or Michael isn't here to make miracles, but to build the foundations of a fantastic team, whether Schumacher wins a race or not this season, his input would be welcome at Mercedes, which is his national car producer.

I would love to see Michael win, unlike some users on this forum we have to wait and see the team progress, to me it is better this way, patience is a virtue my friends, Schumacher's time to win will come again.

Brawn is responsible for the dog Mercedes have built. And after having his arse handed to him on a plate by his teammate last season I don't see what right Schumacher has to expect better.

That he produced < 5 Brilliant cars working with Michael at Ferrari and worked well at Benetton, don't forget he produced a championship winning car in 2009, by the way I was not expecting this from you, Brawn is a fantastic team manager, when he puts his mind to the task (with Michael), they have a good chance this year.

I too would like to see Schumacher winning races, even though I'm not really a fan of his, mainly because of his past behave etc, but we won't get into that. Many f1 journalists, pundits etc. said what a great would emerged had Schumacher stayed for 2007 against Hamilton in 2007, which was Hamilton's best year for me. But, unfortunately we have to wait, even though I have said that a while now, that is the only thing we can do. Until FP1 in Melbourne, we do not know how quick these cars are in relation to each other

I'm not questioning what he's done in the past, but last year the car was poor, this year all the early indicators suggest that it's even worse. Ultimately Brawn is in charge so the buck stops with him, if anyone has the right to feel disappointed, IMO it's Mercedes, who are paying Brawn and Schumacher top dollar but not getting much of a return at the moment. There's always a chance Merc might have a better car this year than everyone thinks, but my main gripe with the article was the bit saying "Mercedes don't deserve them". If Brawn and Schumacher don't deliver, they deserve to be in a struggling team.
