I think he has got away lightly, if your caught racially abusing someone from the stands its a 3 year ban. I don't see why its different just because he was on the pitch?
The only way it work work would be a ban from football because if Liverpool sacked him, he would be a free agent and would get a pay rise when a new club took him on. IMO he should get a 1 year ban from all sport and Liverpool should be able to sue him for lost revenue because they cannot play him and in effect use on of their assets they paid a lot of money for. Unfortunately footballers don't live in the real world.

He admited to using the word 'negrito' which he claims is acceptable in his own country... some of the Liverpool fans are saying it's a term of affection in South America I'm very happy that any sort of racial abuse is made an example of and I hope Terry gets the same or worse, (he doesn't even have the 'ignorance of the culture' defence)
