We could argue all day about the ridiculousness of a supposedly anti-far right march cheering for the Iranian regime but there obviously weren’t half a million people there.

What number did your count come up with?
“Organisers of Saturday's march said as many as 500,000 people had attended, although the Metropolitan Police estimated the figure to be closer to 50,000, adding precise figures were hard to determine due to the spread of the crowds.”

Realistically we’re talking 100-150k. It’s irrelevant really but was merely pointing out that 500k is a silly figure. Looks like everyone got their varying points across and had a nice time.

So, have I got this right? The re-opening of the Strait of Hormuz has become the primary objective of the Iran war and Trump is now desperate to reach a deal that is identical to, or somewhat worse than, the one that Trump himself tore up in 2018. It's almost as if they hadn't really thought this through.

Starmer tells doctors to call off strike within 48 hours or lose the deal on jobs. Strikingly Trump like rhetoric, except that this is Pussycat Kier. I’d advise the doctors to stand firm, because we can be absolutely certain that, like in every other case, Kier will back down.

TACO Trump signals that he's preparing to run away from Iran, telling the UK and others that we should sort out the Strait of Hormuz ourselves. Of course he may change his mind tomorrow, but if, as seems possible, he's been persuaded that a ground invasion would be disastrous, they'll make an ignominious withdrawal and Trump will declare a glorious victory. The Iranians might then decide that they quite like having a toll booth on the entrance to the Strait and decide to keep it.

So am I to understand that Sir Kier wanted his own bended knee alliance with Trump and don’t worry about Europe; now suddenly he wants to reverse it and ally with Europe as Trump is not his friend anymore and needs new friends instead. Or have I got it all wrong?

Starmer is and always has been totally in hock with the EU. His ultimate aim, despite his previous election promise, is to take us back in. Don't believe any of his reported denials. Everything he has done with the EU since he became PM has been to pave the way back in...

It's becoming more and more clear by the day that Britain's best future prospects, both economically and in terms of security, lie with Europe. Starmer is a pragmatist, and he tried for while to make Brexit work by riding two horses, but Trump's USA is bucking bronco. The USA under Trump is no ally of Britain, or Europe as a whole. Starmer's pivot back towards closer ties with Europe is both pragmatic and welcome. It could quite likely be a vote winner, too.

Starmer and pivot in the same sentence. Now that is an interesting approach Strolls :emoticon-0105-wink:

It's been extremely frustrating that it's taken him until now to speak out about the damage done by Brexit, but better late than never. Restoring ties with Europe is a no-brainer.

They all know Strolls. Just nobody prepared to say what a $hit fest it all was. And that’s all parties.

An Iranian missile has struck an Israeli sewage pipe, flooding a Tel Aviv district with ****. What did they ever do to deserve this?
