Yes it is. Accept that the F.A. Had sufficient evidence to find him guilty and move on. Make sure you don't piss the bed tonight either.
A lot of them won't, Liverpool have given a statement and to be fair to them if what they say is true, it's unfair to dish out an 8 game ban especially when Evra has a track record of crying wolf.
Wait there, don't tell me you are one of those eejits that believes anyone who uses the nasty "N word" is a racist bogeyman, you are aren't you?
It's easy to differentiate, if the term is used in a degrogative manner to a black man then it IS racist. End of.
Schmeichel was investigated by the police and there was no evidence he said anything. Same with Finnan in 2006, despite the evidence of the deaf fans. The Suarez case is the first time I remember that a player has been accused of using a discriminatory term, and admitted using that term (negrito). Didn't Suarez admit calling him "negrito" in an earlier statement? Like I said on another thread, accusing someone of racism after they call you a "****ing immigrant" doesn't seem that much like crying wolf to me. Tho' I agree on the 8 match ban - looks to me like the FA are trying to send a message, like they did with the whole Rooney swearing on TV thing.
Very different to what you said first time but yes about right now, although it would be an interesting court case if the accused was himself a black man.
This seems to me to be excessive (to some) so that they have the opportunity to reduce it on appeal. They won't completely rescind it as they'll look bloody stupid. Not that that will be new to them.
There were reports saying Suarez said this in an interview in the "South American media" but as my Spanish ain't **** hot I wouldn't be able to confirm or deny it LFCs statement certainly doesn't seem to suggest that his defence rests on what he said but rather that he didn't say anything untoward at all. Clear as mud now eh
A black man can also use the term in a derogative manner to another black man, yet that is almost never considered racist.
Really, when was this? Or is this (yet) another example of Liverpool fans plucking 'facts' out of the air in order to defend the indefensible?
I thought Liverpool had a language expert as part of their defence to explain why the words he had said weren't offensive? You'd guess they wouldn't have bothered with that if they that if they planned to deny he said anything. But yeah, the whole thing is not particularly clear at all - would be good if the FA actually released full details of the hearing, the evidence against him, details of his defence, and the rationale for the decision. Pigs might fly, eh?
When Evra did? What do you mean? What I'm saying is that a black man can call another black man n word man in a friendly tone and in an offensive tone - neither are considered racist. A white man can call another black man the n word in a friendly tone and an offensive tone - the former will usually be considered to be racist whilst the latter is always considered to be racist.
Mainly cos racism consists of discrimination towards an entire group based on their race. A black man using the n word thus would do well to be racist, unless they were trying to discriminate against themselves as well! That would need a pretty serious case of self depreciation...
