I'd rather not have VAR at all in the current format - it's removing the accountability of the decision from the ref and this leads to lower quality decision making in the long run.

Rugby uses the TMO to show why an on field decision shouldn't stand if the ref has doubts and to highlight impacting events that the ref didn't see in the build up to an event like a goal. At the moment VAR is the final word so refs aren't "responsible" for the answer in the big decisions.

"I'm giving the goal unless there is an immediate and obvious reason why not" is different to "You need to overturn your decision because under several minutes of stop motion scrutiny we saw the defenders left thumbnail was fouled by the attackers right armpit"

Another round of matches where very little changed in the second half.

I wonder if that thrashing might spook Pompey into sacking Mousinho, especially with a two week break up ahead.

I’ve been fairly confident they’ll stay up for a while .

IF they get shot of Mousinho , they will stay up .

If they don’t , hell of a gamble IMHO

Pompey squad is largely composed of average League 1 players that has overachieved last season and the season before. Potts and Hayden played a huge part in guiding Pompey to safety last year. With the drop off in quality this season, it is not surprising to see Pompey struggle. Of the 3, PFC, Oxford and Leicester, I would like Oxford to survive. Pompey really need to develop.a long term playing structure as their transfer policy has been scattergun for.3 seasons now, so perhaps a relegation might improve that aspect as it did Southampton in 2009. As for Mousinho, I hope he leaves with dignity. Changing manager now will be fruitless!
