Was out at 4 this morning with Osca, through the cemetery to the main street, called at the cash point for money then back through the park. I could see Osca rubbing is eyes and thinking what the ****, must get this sleep pattern sorted out. I see the bubble bursting thread was finally closed, I stayed well clear when I saw it descendingg into, what I consider, all that is bad about our mackem/mag relationship, just my opinion mind but good to see its an opinion shared by others. We are one day away from what, again just my opinion, is far more important for a Sunderland fan than what is happening at the sports direct, our game at QPR. Its a surreal feeling right now being a follower of the red and whites, look at the table and we should be down and worried, I get the feeling we are not. The appointment of MON as brought renewed hope and optimism, each game is seen as a step forward with continued improvements and a steady climb being more important than finishing league positions. We just sort of know it will all work out and what's more the players seem to share that belief. We are just over a week from the window opening but all is still quiet, the odd name here and there but some how you know its just gossip and only MON and Short know what's going on. With our chronic need for a goal scorer does anyone really believe that they have not discussed it, that irons are not in fires and an early signing or two wont take place. It feels like the calm before the storm but a good storm with a flurry of activity just around the corner. On Tuesday 31st January 2012 we kick off against Norwich at the SoL, live on sky, I wonder what our starting 11 will be for that game. I truly expect us to be sitting mid table when that game kicks off with relegation fears being a distant bad dream, I also expect an exciting ride to the end of the season, ups and downs and no more than mid table mediocrity expected. However, next season, well that will be the tester.
Morning Syd - have you seen this from a couple of days ago as you always look on the bright side of life

I've just read through that thread Syd. Got quite embarrassing really didnt it ! why do people get involved like that ?
I got up this morning and read it through, and decided that was enough... We had the SAFC/NUFC banter thread that went well.
Great post Syd which does not seem to have been affected too much from your insomnea (I suffer from it badly as well). As for the bubble post, it started out as a bit of light-hearted teasing, but ended up with certain posters from both sides posting things which I truly hope they regret. Black Cat Kiwi....That own goal is unbelievable...Cheers for that mate..
Agree with all said above. Mr your welcome. It'll be all over sky/bbc etc by now I'm sure if not already. Night all, off to bed.
First of all as to sleeping well there are no easy answers, but until gentlemen of a certain age eat and drink less particularly before gong to bed and exercise more (lots more) there is not much point in trying other remedies. As for our team, I am very pleased that SB has gone, he had just lost the plot and impetus. MoN of course has inherited some of the problems that SB after 2.5 years left us with, and there is not magic wand to cure them. It is hardly the EPLs best kept secret we are not scoring enough goals, Bendtner can go back to goonerland asap, Connor and Ji are, as they say, for the future although I suspect that young Mr Wickham is a natural old fashioned centre forward who will only get better and he will be playing for us when fit, cos there is not alternatives. Campbell who knows and Noble seemed to be deemed not ready yet. So do we have any cash to bring a new striker in will we sell to release more funds, my guess is we will buy and sell a little in the Jan window. Until then I suspect we will play midfielders who can score i.e Larsson, Vaughan, Gardner and Rico, Sess and young Jack do not seem natural scorers and I am surprised that MoN has tried Sess in the hole again, he must be wizard in training but cannot carry that form into a real game. So it will be interesting to see the team tomorrow I hope some pub somewhere is showing it.
I had an the annual health check at the GP yesterday, I have to lose 9 kilos, eat more fruit (high cholesterol and they do not give out statins so easily now) watch my diet, exercise more and I have promised to drink less (but of better quality as I put it) One of my many sins is cheese and biscuits and a glass of port or something before bed, apparently not good for sleeping through the night.. I thought Oscar might get you trim Syd, take him for longer walks say 6 miles? We do not have a dog atm but they are good for getting you out and about and meeting others
My Quack told me that, so I have them when I get up, now. PS - you wouldn't want to meet the dog-owners where I live!
I'll make it my New Year's resolution to cut out having whisky and coke as my accompaniment to my full English breakfast...
Had a holiday in France this year and came back with loads of different sorts of cognac so my new resolution is less quantity but better quality. Ends up the same amount of money
