In awkward 'must win' games like these, it is normally at least twice. I'm going for Suarez to hit the left post and the bar once and Downing to hit the left post and right post with one shot, with the ball cannoning off the keepers head onto the bar and in, only for the goal to be ruled offside because Carroll (who will be an unused substitute) had encroached....
I'm impressed by the skill we've shown in hitting the post- after all, it's a damn sight harder than hitting the bloody goal.
I am going to make a bold prediction.................................we WILL hit the bar or post but this time the ball will actually also go IN!
Hard to argue that hitting the post 16 times (or whatever it is) in the same amount of games and NOT ONE going in isn't a tad unlucky surely. Even you can't get much of a WUM out of that statistic Berbs? It's got a slight whiff of bad fortune about it but these things happen to lots of teams and lady luck will swing our way soon enough.
Do you really want me to explain berbs, or are you doing a spot of angling? The latter methinks. However, in order to humour you. There is a very fine line between hitting the inner area of a post or bar, as to whether the ball goes in or stays out. It's called chaos theory. Send a PM to Swarbs and he might explain in to you in refuse technician terminloogy
Can we borrow Own Goal from you lot? he was trememndous a season or so ago, what was it like 11-12 goals?
I remember thinking wtf is going on? Was that the same year they were moaning that Gerrards wayward backpass to Drogba was on purpose and cost them the prem? Yet 12 own goals were on their side that year!
No, no, no Bluff! Own-goals come as a direct result of HUUUUUGE pressure from the attacking side. There is absolutely NO luck involved in getting 12 O'Gees in one season. None whatsoever
If you have a think about our luck in the past few years, i think it all kicked off with Riise's own goal in the CL back in 08 (?), i was ****ing largin it to my mate who is a massive Chelsea supporter and that happened. **** I couldn't sit by him, I had to leave the room as he was letting me have it. 12 OG, that really is incredibly lucky.
Hitting the post or bar instead of hitting the back of the net is the chaos theory. What a load of bullshit It doesn't matter if you miss by 10 miles or 10 nano metres (i.e. hitting the woodwork) both are poor finishing.
i'll go for two bith rubbish scrappy shots guys forget about and then seem to think downing hit a 35 yard screamer when in fact it bounced 4 times.
