midfielderâs future set to be decided - QPR - London 24 Jason Puncheon QPR midfielderâs future set to be decided Ian Cooper Tuesday, December 20, 2011 12:05 PM Warnock will discuss Puncheonâs options over Christmas Neil Warnock admits Jason Puncheon has found life âdifficultâ at QPR, and will discuss the midfielderâs options next week. Puncheon was signed on loan from Championship outfit Southampton during the summer, but has failed to displace Shaun Wright-Phillips in midfield and has been limited to just 15 minutes on the pitch. The 25-year-old is widely expected to leave Loftus Road when the transfer window opens in January, but Warnock has made no decisions yet. âIâm speaking to Jason, heâs got a bit of a knock at the minute, Iâm going to talk to him over the Christmas period,â said the QPR boss. âHeâs been a bit unlucky because we signed Shaun Wright-Phillips then and Jason was injured. All of a sudden there are two more before him and Tommy Smith as well, so itâs been difficult for him and I feel sorry for him.â Follow me on Twitter @QPRTimes. iReader http://www.london24.com/sport/champ...dfielder_s_future_set_to_be_decided_1_1158191
To be fair to the lad, he was never going to be good enough. It was pretty much pointless bringing him in. Hopefully he'll return to Southampton and get on with his career.
If he goes, and Dyer gets removed from 25 man squad, and 4/5 are coming in, ten I wonder who else will go. I would like to see Hogan given a chance bearing in mind others appear to have jumped ahead of him when he hasn't done anything . Maybe Taarabt will be the third name of 25 man squad list to be removed...I just wonder who else
How can anyone make an assessment of his abilities with only 15 minutes playing time?? Madness. He should go onto the bench and when SWP fades why not lob him on to add some late pace into the match?
Well said WBA. The lad needs to be given a chance before he's written off. in the brief cameos I've seen of him he looks pretty good to me.
Clint Hil, Dyer, Puncheon, Perone will all definitely be the ones making way. Tarrabt and Buz could make up the numbers.
Top 4 on my list to be dropped are Puncheon, Dyer, Perone and Hall and if Adel moves on there are 5 new places.
Are you off your rocker Clint Hill has been a gem of a player the worse thing NW did was loan him out in the first place, class act and great for the moral, training ground I would ship out Hall first.
PVM isn't in the 25. Agree with WBA it would have been good to see what Puncheon can do when SWP and Mackie have faded. That we haven't suggests he ain't good enough. I reckon Hill should and will stay unless we are buying another quality LB, and 2 quality CB's.
Sigh. have any of you actually seen Jason play properly? He was very good in his brief spell at Blackpool, scored a few premier league goals and looked dangerous going forward. Hasn't been given a chance, it's a shame considering I watch SWP constantly being outmuscled and Mackie's touch constantly letting him down, but it's down to Warnock and not me I suppose.
