I think James is just upset that his 'exclusive' that Scott McKenna would sign for Celtic "today" (posted last week) hasn't come to fruition. I think it's fair to say he made an arse of himself on Twitter. "It's a done deal. I've heard it from a good source and he's rarely wrong" does tend to make you look like a twat when it turns out to be complete bollocks.

My biggest concern about signing players isn't the cost It's the inability of Rodgers and Congerton to identify quality players. If I was a Board member I would be wary of giving them money too.

The amount they've wasted over the past couple of years is frightening. When you look at who are our best, first choice players just now the vast majority of them were there before Rodgers arrived: Gordon, Tierney, Brown, McGregor, Rogic, Christie and Forrest, for example. Of the players he's brought in on permanent deals only Dembele, Sinclair, Edouard and Ntcham would get pass marks.

Then there's the 'others': de Vries, Compper, Gamboa, Hendry, Eboue, Benyu, Mulumbu et al. that has cost the club millions in transfer fees and wages.

Celtic are close to signing Dominic Iorfa on a pre-contract from Wolves, according to reports.

A defender. Can play right back. Sounds good. Maybe. Downside is he obviously wouldn't be here until summer.

Just saw some reports linking us with Farès Ghedjemis again. Interesting profile honestly.

He’s still only 23 and has been doing pretty well with Frosinone Calcio — around eight goals this season from the wing, which is not bad at all for a wide player.

What I like is that he seems quite direct and can play on either flank, which is something we’ve been lacking at times. A bit of unpredictability in the wide areas wouldn’t hurt the squad.

Of course, Serie B to Celtic is always a bit of a gamble, but sometimes those are exactly the transfers that work out best.
