<laugh> Let's just imagine you could offer him something we couldn't and you ended up signing him... Would you guys still accept him as one of your own?

I think most Sunderland lads on here rate him pretty highly - mind you I've been more impressed with Cabaye although that's only going off watching MotD and a couple of live broadcasts this season.

Cheik Tiote doesn't get any telly time on match of the day, cos he does nowt "special". His defensive job though is more important to the team IMO.

Ah yes, the fireworks thread right? 5 Goals being his usual self on your board, seems canny on our board but as soon as he crosses over here he seems to cause all sorts of ****.

Have a good Christmas Kiwi & Roger <ok>

Get off your high horse mate.

Was trying to actually start a footballing conversation about the topic of that thread (our bubble bursting) but couldn't manage to do so with MR and a few others because of their continuous personal insults etc.

That's about the third time you've had a go at me today :(

I said you were canny on our board, but when you come over here it all seems to kick off when you comment. I just don't get why it all seems to kick off when certain people come over here, I barely ever come over and I get decent craic.

Thing is I come here quite often and have decent conversations with some mackems and have got to know people like Bruceys Beak and Chunky better than I would have thought , it was my bad to think that it was possible with all mackems as all you get during a football debate with MR is personal insults.

Coloccini, Krul, Tiote and Ba will be attracting interest form the bigger clubs.
Dont be surprised or dismayed if Uncle Buck Ashley cashes in during the January sales to fund his casino and partying exploits. After all, its his club and these are his assets and with 26/27 points in the bag, relegation should be avoided even if they are sold now.

In the meantime, old fairy pufters father can unearth some more gems for him to sell in the summer? Lol

Good to see they are attracting interest really, shows they are doing very well. Nothing we can do but hope Ashley doesn't sell(unless he gets a massive offer, Carroll style).

It would be very unusual for a player to leave after only 6 months in January like (The only one I could name is Robbie Keane from Liverpool, and he was going back the way he came!) so I can't see Demba going next month. Maybe we'll cash in on him at the end of the season, but I couldn't see it in Jan.

Krul seems settled, and I would be very surprised if he went in January. Unlike some (I'll explain below) he has come out and specifically said he wants to stay. After spending most of his youth career and moving his family up here, I wouldn't bet against it.

That leaves Colocinni and Tiote. I think that Colo has been keeping worryingly silent about this speculation. Ashley told clubs to bugger off in summer, but will he do the same if a big money offer comes in in January? Who knows... We certain;y can't judge now.

The same applies for Tiote. Most toon fans are worried about losing him, but it's still just paper talk, anything could happen!

BUT, we are reasonably confident that Ashley isn't completely stupid. He has a history of getting good money for our best players, and if the worst does happen, I reckon he'll invest it this time, because quite simply, we can't afford not to!

That’s for sure but it must be annoying that he see's your beloved club just as a cash flow play thing by which to further his other business interests. While many who support Newcastle through thick and thin have nothing else to fill there long days he'll ride off into the sunshine on his private jet to places far sunnier than they'll ever experience with a trail of debt behind him, safe in the knowledge that his lawyers have squirrelled enough away to see him right.

Yup. But unfortunately, for now at least, we're stuck with him.

HOWEVER, he has also indirectly helped the club in many ways. I don't remember the club having such a strong youth system in place with so many good prospects, and we are now just about breaking even and financially stable.

YES it's all in his own interest for reducing expenditure and increasing profits, but, motives aside, the club is being run a lot better in that sense.

The truth is we are all in the same boat up here sadly, if one of the top 4 or 5 come calling its rare to be able to keep a player.

    To true.
The money & lifestyle in London will always keep them there unless you happen to be a Manchester or Liverpool. It's seems anywhere else is seen just as a stepping stone to the big bucks on offer at one of them.

If Noble makes it big at your club I fully expect the same thing. No doubt the bin dippers will be around if he does so I wouldn't mock. We are nothing but feeder clubs up here.

If we both had the chance to build teams I would expect us to be fighting in the top 8 in a couple of years but sadly it will never happen unless a sugar daddy buys both clubs.

not sure where you get the mocking from mate, we seem to be singing from the same page to me. Mind maybe we all have a bigger club. Man U lost players and Arsenal are losing them.

For us up here we cant win, if a player flops we stuck with them, if they do well we get the knock on the door, the key is being ready and Pardew looks like he is more than ready to me.
