Has scored a few nice goals for Cliftonville. A long way from the Premiership but you never know, some diamonds appear in the rough.. ..just look at Bebe =P http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16237980.stm
Since I'm from Northern Ireland it'd be nice to see. You can drive past their ground on the motorway and see right in, it's a different world to the Premier League.
Ill be surprised if this happens given anyone with an ounce of skill can look good in the Irish League.Still if he comes good it will be nice to support a local lad. Are you talking about Seaview or Solitude, Aurelio Fav Doc?
Some of the football played at Solitude would give you the impression they are playing Gaelic or Rugby with the amount of shots in the air
I hope we get him, it's only £100 grand so if he flop's no big deal but if it come's off it's a great bit of buisness.
I've seen some vids, but tbh he looks distinctly average! ok he can score in Ireland but the PL is in a different galaxcy. Hope he proves me wrong though
If talent/potential has been spotted here, then for 100K (less than some footballers weekly wage) I'd have a punt on him Nab him in Jan and then loan him out to a Championship side for the rest of the 2011/12 season, if he does well, then newly promoted sides as well as "lesser" established EPL sides may want to take him on board, so loan him out to them for the 2012/12 season, again, if he does well, we'll be on the way to getting a decent player with some EPL experience, if not, we'd be able to move him on for a profit, Win/Win as far as I'm concerned..
I wonder whether this is simply down to the scouts and Kenny, or whether Damien Comolli has had a hand in this? That would be interesting to know, as it might provide an indication about just how much of a punt he's going to be...
He's only 19 but at the moment he's a big fish in a small pond, moving to the premier league he will be a small fish in a big pond. A move to any Premier League club would be a huge step up for him and I can't see any risk of him moving for £100k, it's not like we're Everton is it? If he turns out to be the next Robbie Keane then great, just remember...Finnan was told he wasn't gonna make it as a footballer in the Irish league. You never know.
Haha yes I stand corrected! Don't think he'll be that good to be honest if he's 19 and still in the Irish League set up. All the Norn Iron ones coming out now.
Some player's develop late, Kevin Doyle was playing league of Ireland until he was 22 and moved to Reading for £78,000.
