Striker injury hopes Sunderland, 14:52, December 19, 2011 Sunderland striker Connor Wickham is expected to shake off his knee injury in time to face QPR on Wednesday night. The summer signing from Ipswich was only just returning to the side at the weekend, following a five week lay-off due to knee ligament problems, when had to leave the field. But this is thought to be a different injury and the hope is he will be okay after a period of rest. Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill told the Gazette: "I think Connor is going to be OK. He went down in the first half, but recovered. "But he's done very little work. He played in the game last week for us, but he'd only had two days training at that stage. "This week, we've been trying to do a little bit more, but we don't want to push things too much. "In time though, he's going to be a fine player." good news lads
Very good news Roger, I' m not sure whats the best thing to do, play him Wednesday or keep him for Monday. Mind I'm sure MON will have the answer.
