I'm worried that we are looking at 2 new wingers and bringing in Brady. I hope this isn't a sign of Stewart leaving, although I do rate Hammill very highly.
As far as I know we haven't yet made any approach for a defender. But Kilgallon is apparently keeping his mobile on, just in case.
If he said we were getting Sharp you'd believe it straight away but because the names he's offering underwhelm you, you don't want to believe it. He seems to be in the know (it's pretty obvious he knows Barmby) so just accept it. As Calgary Tiger says, the biggest thing is keeping hold of our best players. I'd like to see a striker and goalie (if Basso is really so unfit) and maybe a defender for cover. Seems weird that we're just stockpiling wingers.
Maybe just preventing boring Nigel from signing any because Leicester are desperate for a winger or 2
i think we should get 3 players 2 main (£1million each roughly) and a cheap backup. Personally i don't see the point in a goalkeeper other than when gulasci leaves. He is growing in confidence and Basso was brilliant (not sure why he's not playing). bringing in another goalkeeper, unless he's the next schmeichel it wouldn't make much sense. Sam vokes is really not exciting, tall and young but doesn't seem to like to score, probably would score on his debut and then nothing for a 6 months. I don't think we need a tall guy necessarily. we are playing on the ground now, slick quick passing, billy sharp would have been really good. We just need a guy who has a good shot and control and who won't be scared to shoot. I don't think we need a midfielder/winger. not with garcia and oli back. thre may be better ones out there but the ones we have are good enough. and gelling. So for me, a sharp shooter, a strong defender who won't mind the bench at 1st and possibly a young goalkeeper for next year. Defence is the trickiest, we need back up but it's the area of the team that demands the most Bonding. A back four needs to be a tight unit and bringing in a "foreign entity" could disrupt things... forgive my writing, I'm very tired
I expect us to bring in a striker, a winger, a defender and a keeper(though Gulasci's improved performances may see us forget the keeper until the summer).
i suppose it makes sense I guess. one in each area. Hope we think seriously about quality 1st and foremost.
The way I understand it, the club are expected (or maybe already have) to receive enquiries about one of the current first team. They are however hopefully they can be convinced to stay and I believe this is why they are desperately trying to get NB confirmed as full time manager soonest. I'm not quite so convinced Oli will be going anywhere, his attitude has impressed NB and he feels he has a lot to offer the midfield, certainly a lot more than a certain young lad who was omitted from the bench on Sat I know for certain we haven't made a bid for CB, and know that we don't really have any firm targets in that position yet. Part of the issue is that the Allams will not under any circumstances pay part of McShanes wages if he goes out on loan, and with him on 18k a week, no other club is going to pay that in full. The keeper situation is one where OLM and I disagree, as I don't believe they are even thinking about another keeper. NB has been very happy Gullasci and he is here until the end of the season no matter what. The only I think we will get a keeper in, is if Gullasci gets a serious injury and we need an emergency loan for cover. NB would rather use the available funds elsewhere.
Tricky one that! His tendonitis (in the knees) apparently stops him kicking the ball. Seems he's worth the risk, on the bench, but not for a whole game, if PG is injured/suspended. Were that to happen, I guess we'd bring in an emergency loan?
Well, the sudden rush to sign a winger AS WELL AS BRADY RESIGNING, surely indicates the player likely to be target to be Stewart. Plus there was that meeting with agent thing on his twitter account last week. Got to be Lesteristan, surely!
No it isn't Cam - in fact I know he is very happy here and loving playing under NB. That is my understanding of the keeper situation - we will only look to sign an emergency loan if PG gets a long term injury. Also my understanding is that Basso isn't that bad, but his drop to the bench is more a mixture of him being a bit of a wet lettuce and NB not been his biggest fan.
If we have no targets for CB that (hopefully) means that Chester is not the one being targetted? Possibly Koren then?
I think Koren is the most likely because he is nearing the end of his career. He is most likely to be tempted by a salary hike at his time of life. To me he is also exactly what Lesteristan need as well.
Don't Lesta need wingers? If Koren were to go to them he'd more than likely be played on the wing, but he wants to play in the middle
