Ok I might be facing ridicule but what the hell. I think Leeds should push the boat out just a little bit & go get Beckford back because he is a scoring machine. Also Adel Tarab is not wanted at QPR. He is not PL material but will have 10-15 goals in him in the Championship.
I would welcome beckford back just because that guy is a legend but i dont think its realistic in any sense. Taarabt, i would not welcome back, he's an arrogant asshole who imo isn't even good. He is one of the most overrated players especially last season, i prefer howson to him to be honest. And also i think he'd cost a bit. Personally, if we're talking about big signings, i'd prefer us to bring in Billy Sharp and Butterfield/McGugan
I like Josh's suggestions of McGugan/Butterfield(/Clingan) and Sharp(/Jutkiewitz). David Templeton from Hearts to replace Gradel on the left wing. Adrian Mariappa (Watford)/Tamika Mkandawire (Millwall)/Shaun Barker (Derby captain) to command our defence, with whoever looks best out of Lees and Kisnorbo next to them. New deals for White, Snodgrass and Howson. But I'm not stupid and I know nothing in the least exciting will happen.
I'd like to see us go for Matthew Bates, CB, Boro captain, only just turned 25, out of contract in summer but could still command a fee of £1m+ so unlikely we'd land him. Frustrating as we've probably got the money from Gradel sale etc.
We haven't actually. Bates said the Gradel money comes in a series of installments over the next couple of years, so we probably only have 500k of it (if that). But there's the 3m profit we made last year which 'went' straight into our transfer warchest, of course.
Im pretty sure that is the only money that bates' admitted to not going towards transfers But i like the idea of matthew bates for defence. In my perfect world we would be buying Sharp, Butterfield/McGugan, Bates and Templeton (I like the idea of actual winger)
Another good couple wingers would be zaha or kebe, i think zaha just signed a new contract though And Lichaj for right back
Duff could be available in Jan. Can't see him dropping down a div though and bates won't pay his wages.
I don't think a striker's a priority tbh, we've already got Becchio, McCormack, Keogh and Forssell, and Somma's on his way back. I would like to see us sign: A Cm (Forest need to sell McGugan, and Butterfield may be tempted) A Cb (Bates would be ideal, but unlikely) A Gradel replacement (A few of these around, Templeton, the youngster Redmond from Brum, Adomah) A Rb to provide competition/cover for Connolly (Lichaj would be ideal, but I think he's still injured)
Having watched the MKD game I have gone right off Adam Barton so my preferences would still be BATES ,ANDREWS,the rest you are suggesting would cost too much Bates will not go over 500k Sharp will cost £3m so thats a no no. Taarabat would be a complete waste of money if his present manager has offered to drive him to Paris that speaks volumes. Beckford another prima doner Everton I believe gave him £650k to getb rid of him and if you have watched Leicester they would do the same only Grayson has managed to control is mega ego and at £45k wage forget it along with the much talked about Smith
Mitch Ward from Derby would be a good signing, tricky pacey left winger, can also play on the right, & tracks back.
some good ideas there, as well as some totally ridiculous suggestions haha, qpr reportably turned down £10mil for taarabt in the summer! what about (andrew?) driver the left winger from hearts, hes pacy and has handed in a transfer request
