It's just a cash cow, fining people for the most minor of offences and making half million out of it.
Such as the bus driver who he highlighted, he can't see round the corner, so his tail end becomes stuck in the box, fined. This is the guys living.
Box junctions right on top of crossings, what is the driver supposed to do if the pedestrian steps on the crossing as you enter the box, run them over?
Oh your back bumper is just overlapping the box, but not even causing an obstruction, fined.
The problem with the boxes is they are too big, made so purposely to hand out fines, the extended boxes are in areas that would not cause an obstruction.
Although the obvious solution when you enter the box is to drive at 2mph, because as long as your wheels continue to turn they can't fine you.
A lot of people probably deserve the fines, but certainly not everyone and you'll normally find it's certain councils that will be handing them out just because they can.
Also if you take it to adjudication and lose the fine doubles lol. So people pay up instead.
Depends. Sometimes someone else ****s up or some nervous knobhead leaves space for a small plane in front of them so you get stuck when there should be plenty of room. Some of the ones in that clip are ridiculous.
The idea of the boxes is to keep traffic moving, but if I stop on the edge of the box until it is entirely clear, I will actually stop the traffic from moving, that's not illegal, but get prepared to be called a ****.
Andrew is being sacrificed to take the heat off the Royal family - funny how he was moved out of certain properties (crown?), I think it restricts the cops in their searches. Either way the maximum sentence for the alleged crime, misconduct in public office is life in prison...

And then the traffic stops and instead of helping the traffic flow you've caused 100 people to be late for work because there's another clown that doesn't understand simple rules 1/2 mile up the road coming in the opposite direction who has done the same thing. Riding my bike around town I see you idiots causing needless jams so you can get 1m closer to the red traffic light all the time.

You just don't like cars so I wouldn't expect you to see any commonsense regarding them.
Some London Borough's are worse than others for handing out fines like confetti. It's how they pay for services we all rely on, it don't make it right though.
Maybe we should charge cyclists for being on the road, maybe we should have a registration system for you all, because cyclists break the law as well but are very rarely pulled up on it, you guys think you are the law on the road.
Mandatory registration on purchase - have a vin code embedded into the frame and make you guys display it on a small tag that can be read by cctv.
We can see if you are one of these so called idiots then, just like your fellow humans on the road in motor vehicles.
I love cars, it's the morons who drive them and stop on box junctions I can't stand, they're ****ing stupid. The only reason we have box junctions in the first place is because there were too many idiots with zero situational awareness beyond the rear of the car in front constantly blocking traffic with their stupidity. Get those idiots off the road and everything would flow much smoother.
Those morons and idiots on the road as you like to call them are humans, the same humans that use motor vehicles and non motorised forms of transport. Like you say, you love cars, same mindset, it's still Ern, different mode of transport, don't automatically make you an idiot because you switch from a bike to car.
I don't think anyone would dispute if you block a box junction due to not planning ahead, then you deserve a fine for holding up the traffic, but it shouldn't become the norm and purposely used as a council licence to print money. The whole point here is motorists were being purposely targeted in some situations that were impossible to avoid.
People are just paying up, like they do parking fines, because they can't be arsed with the hassle, but it's a misuse of the technology available to the authorities that should be using the equipment fairly and responsibly, not just as a money spinner to target generally law-abiding road users.
The cynic in me suggests they are not interested in keeping the flow of traffic moving, they consultant on using this technology because they know they can print money with it. Let's get all cyclists displaying vins, and see if those same humans like technology being used against them in such an insincere way.
By all means target irresponsible road users but that's not what I'm talking about here.
