I'm sorry, but less than 3000 people died in the 9/11 attacks. But because it's AMERICA, it is now one of the most talked about and remembered events in history. However, the 8 million Ukranians starved under Stalin, the 800,000 people massacred in the Ugandan genocides and the 1 million people murdered in the Armenian genocides are not even thought of!

I agree that 9/11 was horrendous, and I will remember it for the rest of my life, but you appear to have the American way of thinking that "OMG IT WAZ THE WORST DISASTER EVER." No. It wasn't, it was only because it affected the loudest mouthed country in Western civilisation, and I'm sick of seeing people getting their knickers in such a twist over it.

I personally think he got the job to improve the squad and improve the results, and he's done exactly that. Ashley has learned his lesson now, and I think he knows that he doesn't have as much knowledge on the game as he thought he did. That's why I believe he's leaving everything to Pardew and the scouts, with Pardew having to request players. I really don't think Ashley bypasses Pardew or the scouts to sign players on a whim. Maybe he did once, but he's learned his lesson now after his failings cost him a ****ing fortune due to relegation. Billionaire businessmen learn from such things, you know.

I didn't read the last 6 pages beyond Cest's reply to my original post (I've been out with my girlfriend in the Metro Centre, you know, having a life and so on) but I didn't realise it turned into such an OTT topic about 9/11 and all sorts, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.
