Sunderland, 08:53, December 19, 2011 Martin O'Neill is in the race to sign Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic but he faces a battle with QPR for his signature. The new Black Cats boss is after a new frontman and, while he has looked into the possibility of bringing Asamoah Gyan back to the club, that appears to be a non starter. Therefore the Croatian is a possibility having been watched on a number of occasions. Ibrox chief Ally McCoist does not want to sell the striker and will therefore want as much as he can get for him, with some reports suggesting he will be looking for £10m. But O'Neill will be hoping the lure of Premier League football may persuade him to head for Sunderland. He faces a battle with QPR boss Neil Warnock though as he is also desperate to add more fire power to his front line as he looks to steer the newly promoted side away from trouble. don't get to watch Scottish footy here anyone know what hes like

Lol Is he worth £10m? Thats a helluva lot of money for an unproven EPL footballer but then was Modric EPL proven? The only downside is Modric took 12 months to settle in, although at least Jelavic has been in the British Isles since last year?
Right i have spoken to a Scottish fan (so watchs alot of him) and he says he is scoring goals and looks good but "how many players look good up here and turn out crap down south"
and anouther fan said this Jelavic is class, far better than SPL standard that's for sure. Has everything in his locker, pace, strength, great finisher, can head the ball and can produce something out of nothing as shown by a few of his goals last season. Don't know how long we will be able to keep hold of him Yeah had interested from Liverpool and Newcastle supposedly, Neil Warnock said today that Stuart McCall has been touting him to English clubs and spoke to Warnock about him aswell
and anouther one I think Jelavic would be a success down south, everyone has their opinion on him though, from what I see week in week out I think he is Premiership standard
Jelavic is one of the laziest strikers I've ever seen. Wouldn't wish the guy on any team in the prem!
but if hes half the player of that other legend of Scottish football legend Hendrick Larsson hell do us
Dont think Kenwyn was lazy ROG, just so laid back he was almost horizontal. maybe something to do with all that herbal stuff.
