On the chanting, I don't know what anyone can do. It always seems that a tiny number of people doing it gets massively publicised. And maybe that's a good thing in some ways, because as Chelsea Pride say it shouldn't be ignored or minimised if it happened, but I think in some ways it's a bad thing too. It gives people a lot of power. I think most people were surprised by the statement before the game about chanting but I wonder if it inspired the odd person to do the very thing it asked them not to. I can't imagine City fans would be thinking to chant about "rent boys" because we're playing Chelsea. Maybe it gave them the idea, and by being the wrong thing to do it becomes the "edgy" thing to do. I do think the zero tolerance and 100% publicity approach isn't working because you're never going to get perfect compliance with humans and by platforming it so much you sort of keep it relevant when maybe it would die out otherwise.

Weren't they just commenting on how SW3 affords his motor-yacht?
City 2 boring **** 0

Aged well.

On reflection, I thought we gave a reasonable account of ourselves. Considering all the changes, and I agree with what the gaffer said, if we play to that level in the coming games, we should do okay.

I thought Slater, Giles and Koumas were the pick of our players, as well as McCarthy, who, for a young lad, equipped himself well.

A mention for the ref, who had a very good game and was a cut above what we usually experience.

On to QPR, let's hope we can get back to winning ways.

Putting aside the obvious gulf in quality and as such the result, that was a better game of football than we usually see. Free-flowing, well refereed and felt like the ball was in play a lot more than usual.

Was it that PL ref who was praised recently for standing his ground when VAR bizarrely suggested he should give a handball? Looked a bit like him. He seemed really good.

At 4-0 with 20 minutes to go I was a bit worried they were going to run up a daft score but whether it was them shutting up shop or us improving we seemed to get a lot more control late on and actually started causing them a few problems with balls over the top, which suddenly seemed strangely easy for us.
I think Gelhardt made a real difference when he came on. Looked much more like the player he was before the injury.

For me, for all the excellent things the brains trust have done where the f did you find that keeper.... when he was on a free, I hope the was wages too... and finally Lundstram, pack your bags your agent needs to be looking for a club for you..,

Not sure what to make of Lundstram. He started the season really well and looked like one of the first names on the team sheet.
Since returning from injury he looks well off the pace and uninterested at times. Hopefully he can find some decent form again for the business end of the season.

I agree with what PLT said about the chants. If you do a finger-wagging statement before a game, some edgy **** is going to be like ‘haha, I’m gonna do it anyway’.

Did entire sections of the stadium chant it, or just a few idiots?

In end, I think going out is a good thing. With our injuries, we just dont need the extra games.

Wonder what strength ipswich were at. Did they play second team.

At least Joffy looked a lot better, and Giles looked to be back up to speed.

We will smash QPR!

Did the capacity change with the safe seating being put in?
I thought it did. Official attendance given at 24,300+. The segregation in the North Stand was a lot better. Just one row of double seats netted off, unlike the full section we usually get. More stewards there then normal and by looks of it we must have trouble recruiting locally, and we had a dozen or so uniformed police sat in the stand at my end.

Another fine incoming probably but if so,how can the Club he held responsible, they've warned our fans not to do it?

Personally speaking,if someone has called someone from Chelsea a rent boy and has been ejected and charged by the plod, that should be ample punishment and bear in mind it could lead to a spell in prison if it's classed as a 'hate crime'...

Silly little ****ers...Couldn't they have just called them Southern w@ nkers?

Storm in a teacup on par with the 'town full of bombers' chant supposedly heard against QPR a few seasons back. Chelsea fans gave it loads last night, none of it complimentary, all the usual stuff about Hull being a ****hole, paying our benefits, etc etc. Nothing we have not heard a thousand times before, and they got a lot back as they expected. I never saw or heard of anyone being offended. We must have someone at City with exceptionally keen hearing to pick up on all of this, or is it a case of someone looking for a reason to be offended and an opportunity to show their authority?
