I think SR will forgive Tonda for winning that game because we managed a higher possession percentage than they did and we all know that is more important. He needs to be careful in future though because it was close! How are we feeling?

Came in and instantly turned our fortunes around after an abysmal effort by Still that nearly ruined our entire season. Had a rough patch, but has recovered from it very well, and seems to be learning quickly. Players like him. Team spirit and passion is a massive improvement. A lot of the time, at this level, that's more important than tactics, formations and skillful players. How are we feeling?
Meh, I really hope we dont get promoted, this season has been far more interesting than last which was utterly ****e. I’m hoping for a solid end to the season a playoff game or two and then some savvy additions over the summer. Maybe then.. maybe then.. maybe. If we do go on to get promoted from here then it will mainly be down to the formation change for me. It was blatantly obvious to everyone it seemed that the squad was best suited to a 4231 type system and it took us 28 games or whatever for us to play it.
If we gain enough points and win the playoffs with that system it just justifies what most people were saying back in August.
If we finish top 10 then I think Tonda carries on into next season, but I still am of the belief that with the squad we have, playing the system we have been recently, any professional manager would get results.
If we do go up then it is a really big call, exactly the same as when we went up under Martin (albeit to a lesser extent). The way we currently play will not work in the PL, is Tonda the guy to change that and make us effective in the PL, of course we would need to sign basically an entire new first XI as well

Also, in theory SR will have learnt their lesson from last time, seen what Sunderland have done, and spend more money on better and more experienced players.I get the logic but the issue as ever is money. If we don’t go up this year then there is the question mark over how competitive we are going to be financially next season compared to the other parachute clubs, which makes it a lot harder.
Going up and having a 12 point season again is probably better long term than not going up and having a much higher likelihood of turning into a Bristol City/Stoke type team who finish mid table in the Champ every season

I’m not confident that they will have learnt their lesson though tbh. Also, in theory SR will have learnt their lesson from last time, seen what Sunderland have done, and spend more money on better and more experienced players.
I think that the way we play now has more chance of success in the PL with better players, it's hardly suicidal Russball. If we do go on to get promoted from here then it will mainly be down to the formation change for me. lol. What’s the definition of insanity again? Also, in theory SR will have learnt their lesson from last time, seen what Sunderland have done, and spend more money on better and more experienced players.
I think it’s a dice roll in the premier. It’s incredibly tight and survival means first and foremost finding three teams that are poor. Without that I don’t think the promoted outfits have much of a chance.I think that the way we play now has more chance of success in the PL with better players, it's hardly suicidal Russball.
Agreed. I also think our owners realise that it’s far better to get promoted with a team of players you own, instead of one made up of loan players and others running down their contracts.lol. What’s the definition of insanity again?
Everyone spends on better and more experienced players. Forest survived by starting a new team but now they’re a basket case. Leeds had a couple of years in the champ and are doing well without overspending. I’d rather follow their model. Another year in the champ wouldn’t necessarily be the end of the world.our manager certainly won’t be equipped with the experience needed next season.
He came to Brighton from St Pauli in June 2024 having won promotion to the Bundesliga in May that year after two seasons in charge. Probably regarded as more experienced than Eckert. Similar to Tonda he had an initial run of good results since which there's been a decline culminating in defeat to arch rivals Crystal Palace. Chants of “you don’t know what you’re doing” and “you’re getting sacked in the morning” rang out. This despite a more than £200m spend on players in the summer Hürzeler arrived. His Future is in doubt and, although according to reports there's no plans to sack him, it's noted that popular with fans Roberto De Zerbi has just left Marseille.Brightons manager is a young guy too. How much more experience does he have than Tonda?
