The 2011 Ferrari was far less reliant upon an EBD than the McLaren.

Hi guys, wasn't the Mclaren originally built around the octo-exhaust and they scrapped it to put in the diffuser because there pace and reliability was poor. Surprised they are in the first test with the new car.

 

Maybe they'll come up with their own ideas again, like with the F-duct.

 

And finish 4th and 5th again?

 

In their defence they were still in recovery after the 2009 regs destroyed them.
Plus, they still came 2nd in the Constructors'.

Some rumors of Senna to Williams surfacing today. Smells like bullshit to me, but ill post it anway. Its surfacing on a number of forums that he has been to the factory and has found a massive sponsorship package.

 

Given that he did an alright job at Renault, this wouldn't be a massive disaster...
However sounds like bull to me too. Wasn't long ago that Raikkonen was having a seat fitting at Williams was it?

 

They'd be mad not to take Sutil.

 

On form and ability, I'd say Sutil definitely shades Barrichello, and Maldonaldo isn't the person to lead the team, and Sutil would probably do a better job than Senna could at that, as Sutil's far more experienced. On money, we know Barrichello isn't bringing in as much as Williams would like, because Barrichello has repeatedly mentioned in interviews his need to find additional funding, unless Sutil doesn't bring in any money (and if I recall correctly he has a large deal with Medion), I can't see why Senna would be preferrable.

 

This basically sums up why I think the Senna -> Williams rumour is bollocks.

Other drivers plural? Interesting. Also, by saying advanced that would surely rule Sutil out, because his situation has only been found out recently, Barrichello has said he doesn't fancy being at the back of the grid, so it probably isn't him. Senna has been in the lurch for a while now, and has experience there, so maybe he could be in the frame?

 

The value rumored (and i must stress that as i haven't seen one credible source) is that the value for Senna is $27 million, which would make it more plausable if true, that money from him (or say Petrov) would probably be worth more to the team performance than 2 tenths from Sutil. But that would mean Senna has nearly doubled his sponsorship over the last few weeks, which i doubt.

 

It looks like Liuzzi will definitely be missing from the grid in 2012, as he's signed up to another race series. This i1 super series looks potentially interesting, if it takes off like the IPL I'd like to think they'd change the car to open-wheeled single seaters in a few years.

 

And in other news, Alonso has divorced. However, unlike Hamilton, I don't think this will have any impact on his F1 performances. Mainly because it has probably been simmering for a while, so he's had to get used to getting on with it.

 

I don't think it will take off, sounds like an Indian DTM and has a terrible calendar.

 

And to finish my triple post of news, HRT announce the impossible: HRT to take a step backwards in 2012.

 

Yeah, the calendar has to be a concern, none of the circuits chosen are exactly classics.
