No double standards here. I didn't boo Dyche, nor did i call for his head. I backed a manager who was new to the job, with 11 new players to deal with, and a team to gel...and i backed him wholeheartedly. It's not a case of boo hoo. It's a case of feeling betrayed...not because MM got another job, he's entitled to that, but because of what he did afterwards. It's quite evident to me that he spent a while letting those that we were chasing, know where he was going, and getting them to hold out for Cardiff, rather than join Watford. It's obvious also that he knew the details of Cowie's contract and accidentally forgot to mention it. It's also clear to me that he would have taken SD with him if SD hadn't been tempted to take on the challenge of a new owner, a new team...and a new job. I could be wrong of course, but i have a niggle that i'm not. We are all entitled to our own passion and our own feelings, mine just happen to differ from some of yours. That doesn't make me have double standards. And yes, i shall be cheering for SD and the boys on Boxing day, as i said..loud and proud..but i shall also enjoy letting MM know what i think of him.

I have never slated SD, so I get to boo Malky? Excellent!

Of course there is very little loyalty in football. The only loyalty is the fans to their team (team, but very rarely any individual). It's a very passionate sport, and when you think someone hasn't really shown any loyalty back, of course the fans are going to let them know it!

You never deny a person of their chance of advancement, but it's the way they conduct themselves upon leaving... We booed the likes of Cook and Connolly, and cheer the likes of Smith, but surely Cook and Connolly were just getting a payrise as well...

    Exactly H!!

We are not sad that he left and would never stop someone bettering themself, but we gave him his last contract as a player, we gave him his first coaching job and his first managers job. With out us he would probably be rotting in obscurity somewhere. He has not thanked us once for any of that he has just buggered off taking everything we have. We are entitled to give him some abuse for that.

It is all about passion - that is why the game is still so absorbing despite attempts by the FA to sanitise it. I personally would applaud Cardiff onto the pitch and once the whistle goes gloves are off and get behind the lads in any way you can. I would love to go to this one but have to limit myself to northern away games this year. 3-2 would be good.

I would enjoy a game similar to the Great Escape game against Grimsby a few years ago - after it is over! In that game we scored in the first minute and didn't attack again. We had our backs to the wall for the next 89 minutes but the defence held. That would be so frustrating for Malky.

I hate MM but hope we are just more supportive of our boys, rather than abusive to his lot. What i don't like about managers like MM is they sign long term deals with the clubs who essentially made them managers by giving them an opportunity then jump the ship as soon as a bigger offer comes. I don't buy into the stories of "he's just protecting his family" and such, seriously it's not like he will go hungry anytime soon. He wants to progress his career? Well he is only like what 38? so he only has another potential 20-30 odd years in the managing business

With the benefit of hindsight, the integrity gaffe probably worked in our favour, because it made it harder for BR to raid us in the way MM did. They're both of the same mindset at the end of the day.

To be honest Dyche's mindset isn't all that different, but there are a couple of differences between those two and him. Dyche had the conviction to come out and say in his first major public event, in front of hundreds of fans including Graham Taylor, and with hundreds more listening, that every manager has his price, and that every manager will look to bring people he knows and trusts along when he moves on. And when he leaves us after being deemed a success here, at least the people he takes with him will be people he brought into the club.

I shudder to think how Smith might have gone down had he gone to Reading instead of Pompey. Looking at it rationally we'd have all said that he was still a club legend, but I daresay that I'm not the only one that would have done well to stay quiet for the first game. Only the first game, mind.

Unfortunately I am hosting Boxing Day this year and should have around 15 people taking up my time, so no chance of hearing the footie :(. However I will be booing at random times between 12:00 - 1:45pm in honour of our guest MM!!!!

Interesting debate. I fully expected MM to go and so it was no surprise when he did. However it was his actions afterwards that got my back up.As an interesting aside I met GT last night at the Carol Concert and I was reminded yet again what a true Gentleman he is and if any former managers want to know the meaning of integrity, there is no better person to illustrate it. Arise Sir GT.
