Here we all are, some against, some for and some who don't give a ****. It's horrible, but it's also small potatos. There are much bigger issues going on around the globe that demand attention, but the international press have found themselves something to whip into a frenzy.
You live in the first world Trev, you can afford to hire someone to **** you off. But what of those in the third world?
Righty-ho then. People are being butchered according to barbaric and backward laws which were concocted in 7th Century Arabia but there's really nothing to see here, so we should all just move along and forget about it? Next time we have riots on the streets of Britain, howsabout a little cultural exchange, say between Hackney and Riyadh?
I'm not for a second saying that voices don't have to be raised, but the coverage is massive along side the ongoing tragedy in the Philippines.
The tragedy in the Philippines is dreadful but it's an act of nature which couldn't have been prevented really - all we can do is provide aid and support. The issue in Saudi arabia, however, is one which Governments can act to prevent. The idea that regimes still find such punishments acceptable is one that shpuld always be challeneged and it should be right at the top of the agenda.
If you chose to live in a region consisting of lots of small Islands below sea level, you should expect to get wet..
