Probably took HH off because he had a slight groin problem before Liverpool game, and we need him against Sunderland. Agree about Bothroyd, he never seems to be available in the box where we want him. Would like to see Derry given a go as we seem to be more solid at the back with him. DJ looks very lively so hopefully he stays fit to give us some pace up front, which we obviously need. Thought Connolly was ok but must be played CH not FB. SWP must play out wide and although I have been a critic of Taarabt he must be given a chance against Sunderland as we don't seem to have any creativity without him. Cerny has surprised me and thankfully has played well because I was dreading games without Paddy. I am not enamoured by Barton right now although I was delighted when we signed him, he just seems to be going through the motions. Whether he thinks he is better than the rest of the team and can't be bothered or he isn't as good as I thought. Needs a spell on the bench IMO.
Trouble is....Barton's lack of effort is really upsetting the team spirit. He struts around telling everyone what to do and plays ****e himself whilst obviously having no feelings for the club whatsoever!! Who'd want to play with someone like that?
Have some people on this board only been supporting QPR since August? Carl Leaburn, Brett Angell, Adam Czerkas, Danny Nardiello, Rowan ****ing Vine, Marc Nygaard, Michel Ngonge, Mark ****ingshitcuntwasteofmoneywanker Hately have all played up front for us in the recent past off the top of my head. People need a ****ing reality check. We're Queens Park Rangers ffs.
No one sitting near me today disagreed that he was shocking. Look at the first ball contact diff between him and DJ. DJ - ball stops dead - Booth - ball bounces off leg and he has to chase it 10 yards to recover - agree with Canadahoop - so many potential break today broke down because he was slow or bad first touch control - admittedly Barton had a shocker - but ran for the ball at least. Look at Boothroyd attitude vs Mackie / Faurlin / Traore etc - he is shocking - can't believe some of you think my post is OTT! Would prefer Smith started in future. Tarbs the only good thing from today - some of his passes v sweet.
I'm not doubting that he had a bad game or even that he's not having a bad season overall but to suggest he's 'not fit for the hoops' is plain bollocks in my opinion when you consider the calibre of player a club like us can attract. He's a good Championship striker who on his day is a decent Prem striker like versus City and the second half at Spurs.
I'm not quite sure of the relevance of this post. I presume it means we've had sh*t players in the past so don't knock our current ones? If so there is no rationale in that.
Come on man, he's not that bad! I think he is a good Premiership reserve striker, which come January is what he'll be. I think DJ will get more game time over Betty as the season goes on too.
What I meant is that these are examples of players 'not fit' to wear the shirt. Bothroyd is considerably better than those listed. He had a bad game today as many of the team did and many of today's posts have been knee-jerk reactions to losing to an excellent team on its game.
Good explanation. Fair point. It always seems to be the case that if there's a hint of a player not giving his all, he'll be slaughtered and rightly so IMO. It leaves the conundrum: Which is better, a sh*t player that gives his all or a good player that doesn't give a sh*t? Equally frustrating I would say.
Swords - there are then those who are tecnically poor and don't try very hard- but give it the big one ...
I don't think he's lazy he just can't read the game very well, never anticipates through balls or one twos. Reminds me of a lanky Kevin Gallen holds it up well but don't do a lot else. How long before we start hoofing it at the corner flag and try holding it there for the last ten minutes to hold on to a drawer!!
